It’s really unfortunate and mindless from Matchroom tbh. Just put it on the 23rd or Oct 1st. I would have attended both shows if they were on different dates too, I love Nottingham Arena. Instead I’m obviously just going to go to the Joyce fight.

It’s like when they put Whyte-Chisora 2 on the same date as Warrington-Frampton.

Yeah, it just seems petty. Disappointing, worst case hopefully they stagger the main event.

Anything rumoured for any of these fighters:

Lerrone Richards - is he going over to Boxxer? Free agent isn't he? Back to Queensbury?

Alen Babic - are they waiting for Rivas? Does he have another fight in the meantime? Wouldn't mind seeing him on the Benn-Eubank card.

Anthony Yarde - any word on who his tune-up opponent will be before the Beterbiev fight next spring? Can't they put him in there with Callum Johnson?

John Ryder - any progress on the proposed Munguia fight? Seems to have gone a bit quiet.

Sunny Edwards - is the Martinez fight close to being confirmed?

Anything you've heard is much appreciated, even if it's just rumour.

The market for Richards is pretty cool to say the least. He’s not a draw and Boxxer don’t really have any money making fights they can make involving Richards. My guess would be he goes back to Frank, you could at least make the Parker fight, the Heffron fight, Clarke rematch etc.

I’ve heard the Benn-Eubank undercard is going to be pretty cheap. How the Matchroom model generally works is the main event fighters/their teams effectively control the size of the budget for the undercard. Fights like Gorman-Wardley were slated for this card but deemed too expensive. I think both Eubank and Benn realise this is gonna be their biggest career payday by a long way so want to squeeze every penny out of it.

Yarde might just sit on the mandatory spot, the Beterbiev could happen very early in 2023 from what Beterbiev’s trainer has said. If Yarde does fight, it’ll be a tune up, no chance it’ll be Johnson or anyone who’s a threat unfortunately.

I think I seen late October somewhere, I like that fight for Ryder. I think he can pull out the W.

No idea tbh mate, it has gone really quiet. Visa issues maybe? I’m not sure what the situation is with Mexico in regard to MTK fighters.

Yeah, agree re: Richards. The best thing Boxxer could offer him at 168 domestically would be Zak Chelli and I don't think that's a fight that does any kind of numbers. Richards-Parker or Richards-Heffron are good fights that I'd like to see, particularly the first.

Interesting re: the Matchroom model, I didn't know that. I can imagine the undercard being pretty rubbish, probably best case chief support would be Cameron-McCaskill cause I think they know that can't headline a card in the UK. Out of interest, what would the purse likely be for Gorman-Wardley? 250-300k? If the main event purses combined are around £5-7m give or take, that's pretty poor that they won't even stump up a fifteenth of that for a good chief support.

I think Yarde-Johnson was pretty optimistic, yeah - I wasn't really thinking they'd do that. Will his opponent be absolute rubbish then you reckon?

Edwards-Martinez has gone quiet as you say, I thought it was lined up for October 22nd but that's not that far away now. Hopefully it gets made, really intriguing fight & I think Sunny could pull it off.

Probably even less than that. 150k max I reckon. I’ll admit I’m not that qualified to give an accurate estimate though.

Yeah at best I could see it being somebody like Adam Denies, he’s ranked by the WBO and if they can get him out of there in 9 or less they can say they stopped him earlier than Beterbiev.

I’d pick Sunny too, I think Martinez is very crude and Edwards boxes rings around him as long as he can: 1. Withstand his power and 2. Hit hard enough to keep Martinez off him. Might be tough to get the decision in Mexico but I give Edwards a great chance.

Seeing a lot of rumours about Riakporhe vs Glowacki. Good fight but I don’t see why they don’t just make the Makabu fight.

I see. 150k max that's pretty stingy then.

Deines seems feasible, yeah. Good point on the angle re: Beterbiev-Deines, if they were to get him out of there very early they could at least claim to have done something Beterbiev couldn't.

                  Agree on Martinez-Edwards, good fight.

I'd assume King is being exceptionally difficult, seeing as Makabu's his last world champion. But yes I agree, pay whatever to make it happen. Glowacki isn't bad though as you say, and at least he's staying active.

Yeah King’s a guy you never want to get involved with, amazes me whenever I see a fighter sign with him.
