  • Lawrence Okolie vs Badou Jack is being discussed. Based on Jack’s performance the other night, this is a mismatch. I guess this also explains Jack mysteriously appearing at #2 in the WBO rankings.

Whether Wood vs Lara being back on changes that I’m not sure. If Hughes doesn’t fight on the Sep 24th card they could always put him on the Warrington card.

I expect Buatsi-Pascal to headline a UK card but it’s definitely an option putting it on the undercard. Buatsi’s not a big draw in regards to ticket selling so it would make sense.

Chisora seems to want it but he’s just seeing the £ signs or should I say the ¥ signs. I’d be surprised if that fight actually happened. It’s not a bad matchup though both are a similar level. If Chisora wants to continue I’d much rather see him fight the Zhang’s of the world.
I see. Hughes-Galahad, while maybe not an exciting fight, would've been alright as a chief support. Maxi comes across well so it would be nice to see him get a big opportunity, if it's not Garcia, then Linares would also be a nice name which I think I've heard you mention before.

We'll see re: Buatsi I guess.

Yea it's an intriguing matchup, I may be in the minority but I didn't think Zhang did enough down the stretch Saturday night to get the win but he has faster hands than I'd expected, good fighter to watch. I'd prefer Dubois-Whyte to Chisora-Whyte III, so I'm hoping that gets made.

Saw them doing their best to hype this one Saturday night - I think Jack's performance took the wind out the sails a bit (I felt he drew at best, probably would've given it 6-4 Rivera), he's got no chance against Okolie imo. Would need to be a good card to get me to watch that if it was headlining imo. Jack is a good name at least I suppose.

It’s a weird one because Hughes-Galahad had been agreed but then Stefy Bull came out and said it won’t be Galahad next. Linares is shot to pieces IMO, I’d probably rather see a Yorkshire derby against Galahad.

I thought Zhang got robbed, I had him up 115-112.

I thought Jack lost too and got a gift. I have little to no interest in him facing Okolie. As you said he’s literally just a name at this point.

          • Wasserman’s next channel 5 show will be Sep 17th will feature Lyndon Arthur and Nathan Gorman. Not the Wardley fight though. Was hoping that would be on the Eubank-Benn undercard but probably won’t happen until Nov/Dec now.

Yh Linares is more so a name at this point, Galahad is a more intriguing fight to me.

I may have to rewatch it, yours is definitely the consensus view on Zhang-Hrgovic. I just thought he didn't do enough in the latter rounds. Hrgovic at least landed consistently in most of them.

Yh Okolie-Jack is disgusting. Genuinely wouldn't watch that.

              • Heavyweight news.

Terms for Dubois-Whyte are close to being agreed. Sky are out of the race and only a massive offer from DAZN will sway Whyte. IMO, only a Joshua rematch would persuade Whyte to reject the Dubois fight. I think he views it as his quickest route back to the big money.

Frank Warren is lobbying the WBO to make Joyce-Parker for the interim title.

Hughie Fury vs Michael Hunter is back on for Oct 29th.

                • Think I’ve just seen something suggesting Galahad-Hughes and Rankin-Harper are on the card for Wood’s fight against Lara September 24th. Why does that have to clash with Parker-Joyce…

If they were to say to Dillian ‘fight Chisora in December, you’ll make at least a million, and if you win, you can rematch AJ in the summer in a stadium fight’, would he not take that? I’m not complaining, I prefer Dubois-Whyte, but I don’t think he can get another big one if he loses to Dubois.

I think that would probably persuade him to go to DAZN. The AJ rematch is obviously a massive carrot to dangle. He’d want some sort of formal commitment though I reckon.
