Metcalf is going down the WBA route, I think we’ll see him fight Souleymane Cissokho next. I think Kelly might withdraw too.

I reckon it’s risk vs reward in regard to Kongo. He’s also looking to skip past the domestic route and go the ABC route. I heard Boxxer are looking to make Kongo-Marku although the trail’s gone a bit cold on that one.

Personally, I’m a big advocate of going the traditional Domestic, European then World route as a I believe it provides you with the proper tests but promoters are able to exploit these ABC orgs so easily that you see more and more skipping over domestic level and becoming highly ranked without beating anybody worth a damn.

    • I really like Cacace/Dilmaghani and I'm intrigued by McGregor/McGoldrick

Always remember when Dilmaghani fought Ziani on Channel 5. Absolute war. Hope that one gets made myself.

I reckon McGregor vacates tbh mate.

        • Quensberry hinting at Bentley vs Sheeraz. Really like that fight. Frank needs to make these sort of matchups too. Bentley back in September, Sheeraz fights this Saturday. Hopefully they can fight at the end of the year.

I see Metcalf and Cissokho are both nicely positioned in the WBA, any chance of that as an eliminator to eventually fight Madrimov in a final eliminator? Seems a fairly cheap in-house fight for Hearn to put on. Or do you think Madrimov-Soro III will take place?

Absolutely agree re. traditional route, I think most fans would too. Fighters and their promoters claiming to be beyond/above European or British level only through beating a plethora of (now ancient) former world-level names grates on you after a while.

Terrific fight this one. Saw Sheeraz talking of fighting Eubank within a year. Slightly optimistic perhaps, but taking this sort of fight is a good step.

Hopefully we'll see Joyce in with someone top 15 in September, Dubois in with a testing opponent around the same time, Zach Parker returning against someone useful (heard something about Chudinov but I don't think the source was any good), Essuman-Antwi supporting a card, and Bentley in with someone reasonable. Frank could put on a couple stellar cards if that's the case.

              • Assuming there's very little chance that Kelly takes the Williamson fight?

Did the WBA order Madrimov-Soro originally? I can’t remember. If it was an ordered eliminator they’ll probably have to do a third one I reckon. They’ll probably draw on the cards this time. That fight is cursed

I’d rather they just moved on tbh. Wouldn’t be surprised to see the regular title come into play involving two of those four.

Joyce is back Sep 24th I’ve seen mentioned. Hopefully they can at least keep him active if they can’t land a big name. Essuman-Antwi could land on that card I reckon.

If Frank can’t secure big names for either Joyce or Dubois, does he just make the rematch?

Yeah I doubt it. Would be a big fight in the North East but I doubt Kelly takes it.
