The back up opponent for Wood is Kiko Martinez so don’t get too excited.

Hughes-Galahad will likely be chief support.
Wouldn't be surprised if it's Kiko, but would infinitely prefer Lara. Lara presumably comes cheap as well, so I think they could tempt Wood into taking it. Great fight if they pull that off with Hughes-Galahad and Harper-Rankin on the card.

Saw something that there's three cards potentially competing September 24th if that's the date they look at for this. So that'd be this DAZN card, Joyce on BT, and who else??

The Lara fight is definitely make-able it’s just whether they’re willing to take the risk. Full credit to team Wood if they take that fight.

I’m not sure who else is planning to fight on that date. Could only be Boxxer or Wasserman realistically. Forgot Joyce’s return was pencilled in for Sep 24th, hopefully the main events don’t clash.

Goulamirian-Merhy has been ordered, so maybe the winner of that would be a good fight if they can't get Makabu (always question marks with King, especially as I'm assuming Makabu's his only world champion left?). Dunno if they'll make CBS-Riakporhe without a belt on the line so hopefully it's one we may see in the future. Massey-Chamberlain? Massey makes sense for Riakporhe if they can't get the shot as you say.

Intrigued by that card. Would they have to make Lawal-Jumah before they'll have time to get Marku out again? Is there a deadline the BBBofC will impose?

Doubt we see any Boxxer fighters on the AJ card to be fair, but you probably know better than I. Reckon they can get Whittaker on the Liverpool card or will that not be eye-wateringly expensive especially with Smith, Azeez-Pitters, Adam Azim and possibly Frazer Clarke on there as well?

Channel 5 seems like a bit of a disaster thus far, especially if Gorman gets beat convincingly by Wardley (not necessarily what I see happening, but definitely a possibility)
Yeah King blocks more fights than he makes these days.

Possibly mate, the deadlines are usually pretty flexible though providing both fighters are ok with it. Who’s Marku fighting again? Is it an easy touch or a decent opponent?

I think you’re probably right, a lot of animosity between Boxxer/Sky and Matchroom/DAZN atm.

It’s been terrible, Gorman-Wardley likely lands on DAZN too so that’s another opportunity missed. They got off to a great start with Bentley-Udofia but the cards haven’t been good enough since.

Marku’s fighting Parra, who’s got a pretty barren record with two defeats and coming up from 140. Easy touch.

I think the Lara fight is winnable to Wood. I doubt any type of title would be on the line for it though. Wood just needs to touch up that body.

            • Wood/Kiko makes sense as a semi easy fight for Wood before a mega fight with Warrington. Lara stretches Wood for sure

Very possible. Lara doesn't look like he can take a body shot though. A total nobody had him on ***** street in his last fight.

                • Liam Davies and Baluta seems close to being finalised for the EBU title at super bantam, saw something about it taking place October in Telford.

                  Joyce 24th September in Manchester.

Yarde-Beterbiev still on October 22nd at the O2?

Surely they won't have a London Dubois and a Midlands Zach Parker-headlined card on around that time period also? What would you say are likely to be the chief support fights on those cards - would Bentley go on the Manchester card? Would Dubois-Takam be chief support at the O2 or is that far too much to ask for.

Also have heard rumours online about a 'massive' opponent for Joyce in Manchester - ideally would be Parker, or Whyte, but might it be Fury at Old Trafford or something absolutely wild like that?

Saw Hearn suggest Lerrone Richards turned down the Akhmedov fight on the GGG-Canelo card, so I presume he's off now - back to Queensbury, or will Boxxer try and pick him up? He's a good fighter (albeit not the most exhilarating), shame to see him languishing.

Hearn also said he's working on Ryder-Munguia.

                  • In Ibiza all this week so won’t be many updates but Joyce vs Parker is back on! Sep 24th Manchester Arena. Mark Heffron vs Jack Cullen on the undercard.

Saw Heffron’s manager suggest on Twitter that they’re not looking at that fight, but it’s a good one, so I’d have thought they could be persuaded. Hopefully Sadjo for the European if not.

Think I heard Foster-Baluta is on there as well. Cacace for the IBO as well I think.
