I'm no Canelo fan but his last 10 or so fights have been stronger than anyone's.

It is easier for him to even make and take fights though, because he knows he has the judges. But you can't really argue against his level of competition especially relative to everyone else.

I recall the same thing happening when Tank sc****d by shot Gamboa. Tank fans were elevating Santa Cruz as though he was the second coming of Chavez. Jermell beats Castano, who only had 17 wins to his credit against marginal opposition and suddenly Castano was a "world class" fighter and among the elite.

My question is who exactly does Benavidez have to beat to get the Credit? Plant? He wont get any credit for that. Charlo? Everyone will say he was too small and Benavidez picked on a smaller guy. Morrell? Beating him itll be Morrell was inexperienced. The only guy he might get credit for beating is Canelo and that's a toss up cause half the boxing world will call Benavidez a weight bully. Although I agree Benavidez has a thin resume he probably wont ever get any credit. That doesnt just apply to him either. We can pick apart 99 percent of fighters and say their resume is thin. Fact is NO fighter can fight every single guy in every single weight class so it's all subjective opinion on who is the best out there. Crawford is and has been at the top of the P4P list and gets little credit. Providing he fights Spence and wins he still wont get any credit from some people. There will be one excuse after the other as to why Spence lost. Let's face it that's the nature of the best in the sport we love. Some fans hype fighters up and other fans knock them down plain and simple!
