But in short a prime Joe gives prime Roy all sorts of problems. Roy was not invincible. He could be outsmarted, like the first Montell Griffin fight.
Jones had the first fight with Griffin winning until the DQ. He was challenge but not dominated.

I had him winning too, but my point was at the time it was the first they'd seen of Roy dropping rounds really. And for all the people saying prime roy destroys prime Calzaghe, I say it would have been more competitive than that

Wheter he beats Prime Roy is questionable but you can tell by Roy's face and what he was saying to his corner that he'd never seen anything like Calzaghe in his prime.

That's'because he was too chicken **** to fight him in his prime.

Jokes aside, Calzaghe's awkward, southpaw style would've alway presented problem to Jones.

i agree with the statements previously made. calzaghe would still school and beat a roy jones in his prime.

calzaghe is just that good. too bad he's under appreciated, like floyd is by the haters. two great boxers victims of their own greatness.

Jones best years were 6 years ago, lets get serious. Tarver and Johnson beat Roy more convincingly that Joe did. Joe ducked Johnson like a plague and pulled out twice. Thers a reason they never fought prime for prime. Jones wouldv murdered Joe and not let him off the hook in the first.

much respect to joe calzaghe for coming to the us and beating jones and nardo on their turf...everybody (except for hopkins delusional excuse-making nutthuggers) feel that calzaghe beat nardo legit, most feel that calzaghe/jones would have been a more competitive fight if it was made before jones/ruiz, but roy still lost, so much respect to joe calzaghe....

Yea, many people forget that Calz's first 22 wins, all but one were by knockout. If Jones or Hopkins had fought him right after he became champion...they'd get smacked around.

Joe fought 22 bums. No **** hes gonna knock most of em out. Jones has more power that Joe and was faster than Joe. A 44 Hopkins in many eyes shouldv beaten joe, you really think a PRIME Hopkins loses to Joe? Are you effin kidding me. Let alon Jones. Joe will always be number three after Jones and Bhop
