It was a very respectable opponent. My guess is Canelo’s team planned on Canelo to be able to remain competitive enough to get an easy decision. Where it went wrong for them was that Canelo got so dominated that the judges had no choice but to give it to Bivol, albeit as narrowly as possible.

Nelo was underdog, its not a cherry pick. Cherry picks are when you pick weak underdogs. Picking underdogs is ok, but try pick the stronger underdog. Bivol would be a stronger underdog than a charlo, or andrade. Even beterbiev isnt a stronger opponent than Bivol. Althought beterbiev might be favourite against Nelo.

If Nelo was underdog I wouldn't have won $700 on a $100 bet.

I can get with that. Bivol's win came to within a hair's breadth of a beat down, yet the corrupt judges made it a 2 point win.

Who cares what you personally thought. Overall Bivol was a heavy underdog that is fact. Being a cherry pick does not mean you are a bum, it just means your the easiest option. Jones is right.
