true .They should really match him carefuuly for another year or so. They should set up the match with Josh Taylor as a huge money maker in the UK. Crawford, Spence, Ortiz, and Ennis could all be at 154 in the next year. So it would be open for Benn.

This could potentially be a huge fight if you really think about it.

It's a matter of which fighter nullifies each other's strengths.
Ennis haven't experienced that kind of aggression such as Benn's.
You can say the same thing with Benn who might lack something that Ennis got.

Tell me, who else is there for these 2 most heavily hyped fighters?

Yeah, that's what I've been getting from the responses here.
They want them to stay fighting Lipinets-level opponents.

Most deplorable thing in boxing is that one loss destroys careers. That's what it's all about. It's a horrible culture in this sport.

I don’t think Benn would last more than 2 rounds

              Yup.

No wonder fighters want fight soft touches. Need to get that monies in the bank before risking your career being destroyed by a loss.

I would do the exact same

That's why there'll never be another Pacquiao-level in this sport. Was still a PPV star even after six loses. One loss is a huge deal in this current generation of fighters, and fans.

Lipinets level opponents are better than anyone Conor Benn has ever fought.

As much as I like the fight as a fan, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to match them this early. Ennis seems ready for a title shot while Benn looks like he may need 1 or 2 more fights against veterans that actually have something left in the tank. If I can't get Thurman or Avanesyan for Benn I would look to Vergil Ortiz before Ennis if I wanted to make a fight against another top undefeated contender. If Ennis doesn't get a title shot next, which he probably won't, I would look to match him with similar opposition to Benn, against someone like Thurman or Ugas, but he could really fight anyone and not mess up his title aspirations right now.

Yup. One loss, just one loss and everyone thinks everything would crumble. It's not even about the fighters, it's the fans. What a sport.

Both fighters are about the same age, 24, 25, and fans think they're still not ready. At 30 they're too old. And they're all assuming everything will go according to plan, no accidents, no injuries, no loses along the way, no car crashes (god forbid)... Oh man, I'm not even sure what tomorrow would bring. Let alone years.
