Honestly these guys are just too old!!! Yoka is 30 isn't he? I say that because if he was 23 and this happened, the kid could become a fighter like Patterson with the right coaching... Combos, swift feet, learnng the angles... But alas... I think mr Yoka has left the building at this point. Bakole? He will soon follow unless he can come in leaner and shorten his punches.
Very wise and very true. Many of these prospect fight at most once a year, so they get too old when finally they step up. Same for zhang and possibly for Hrgovic (that imo is better than yoka, but will age nevertheless before getting a title fight). The best of the bunch imo is jj, but he also have few years left.

Yoka has heart, I questioned it before (and I was wrong again). His footing throughout the fight looked poor and he just didn't react well whenever a punch landed. His punches didn't affect Bakole enough either.

I had never found myself pulling for Yoka until this fight. I hope he can bounce back and make some noise. I'd love to see Bakole in against Hrgovic.
He has the size and speed (Yoka). Like a lot of ammy guys he has been taught to punch for points... There are boxing books written by coaches as early as mid 1800's that complain bitterly about fighters fighting amatuer and not punching hard. Its an old problem that we just don't hear about. Yoka needs a coach that can teach him how to sit down on his shots for one thing. And to let his arms swing when he punches... And he needs someone to explain to him that in a match if I turtle up in front of opponent with no foward momentum, NOTHING GOOD can come of it: Opponent could get a breather knowing you can't hit him, Opponent can attack at will, Opponent can move you back and against the ropes, etc. Very bad habit!

One might well ask: If a fighter like Tony Yoka, who is part of our evolved modern heavyweights, turtles up like that against a fighter of old like Marciano, smaller size and all, what does one think would happen to Yoka? lol.

Damn, for some reason I thought Bakole would gas in later rounds, but the dynamics of the fight was totally different. Yoka didn't really like the taste of it. Props to him for lasting all ten rounds! Bakole can be in lot of fun fights.

MD? lol. Those cards were crooked as f***. Bakole won every round and had 2 knockdowns! Looked like Yoka did not have his juice for this fight.
