  • Damn! I almost picked Bakole to win, but Yoka looked better on paper.

Bakole didn't look all that good to me either frankly... You cann hit a guy pretty easy when he is right in front of you and covering up... Sheesh! I hate to sound so bitter. Im a proper old C u n t Dakuwaqa... but both these guys have about as much skills, poise and ability as Tito Ortiz when he preferred to try to hug Mayweather than fight.
        Yup!

        Sounds about right.

I wasn’t impressed with Bakole either. I do think he could be in fun fights with guys like Whyte and Joyce who he’s not going to have to chase down

If he has half a brain he will really try to come in next fight at least 20 pounds lighter, and refine his attacks. Those punches were looping. When he fights a guy who hits hard and straight its not going to work so well.

          • Always thought Yoka looked "fragile" or vulnerable even in his wins. I predicted he would put ox Bakole in this one and I was wrong.

Yoka has heart, I questioned it before (and I was wrong again). His footing throughout the fight looked poor and he just didn't react well whenever a punch landed. His punches didn't affect Bakole enough either.

I had never found myself pulling for Yoka until this fight. I hope he can bounce back and make some noise. I'd love to see Bakole in against Hrgovic.

              • After Ajagba, another overrated prospect got badly exposed. Btw Bakole isn't good either, but at least he boxed.

                • MD? lol. Those cards were crooked as f***. Bakole won every round and had 2 knockdowns! Looked like Yoka did not have his juice for this fight.

                  • Damn, for some reason I thought Bakole would gas in later rounds, but the dynamics of the fight was totally different. Yoka didn't really like the taste of it. Props to him for lasting all ten rounds! Bakole can be in lot of fun fights.

He has the size and speed (Yoka). Like a lot of ammy guys he has been taught to punch for points... There are boxing books written by coaches as early as mid 1800's that complain bitterly about fighters fighting amatuer and not punching hard. Its an old problem that we just don't hear about. Yoka needs a coach that can teach him how to sit down on his shots for one thing. And to let his arms swing when he punches... And he needs someone to explain to him that in a match if I turtle up in front of opponent with no foward momentum, NOTHING GOOD can come of it: Opponent could get a breather knowing you can't hit him, Opponent can attack at will, Opponent can move you back and against the ropes, etc. Very bad habit!

One might well ask: If a fighter like Tony Yoka, who is part of our evolved modern heavyweights, turtles up like that against a fighter of old like Marciano, smaller size and all, what does one think would happen to Yoka? lol.
