Because Canelo is really a middleweight but he's made all that money he doesn't want to cut the weight anymore. Let's be honest, Smith, Plant and BJS are C level fighters. Canelo's deficiencies were hidden in those fights. It's really amazing how activity, movement and a simple 1-2 nullifies what's supposed to be the best boxer in the game.

If Bivol embarrassed canelo and canelo humiliated those 3 then is it really fair to say that Plant, Sauders, Smith are 1 letter grade below Bivol? Clearly they're at least 2 levels below, so if Bivol is an A (truly he's more of an A-), that makes Smith, Sauders, Plant C level fighters at best.

Does anyone here actually believe that Bivol has a chance against Beterbiev? He may pull it off but I think Beterbiev has to be the favorite.

And if Bivol and a guy like Shakur Stevenson, Bud Crawford, Demetrius Andrade was the same size, would anyone actually take Bivol over them?

Bivol actually traded with Canelo. He had Canelo on the retreat more times than not while not even getting hit. it was incredible. Canelo had 2-3 slugs, but Bivol had like 15 clip. It was like a handgun vs a machine gun.

Bivol is nothing special at all, been lots of top quality guys that are smart boxers just like him, always hard to beat but not special, well-taught boxers win a lot of fights, especially when matched with pretty major advantages, people thought Canelo could get to him and hurt him he could not do either so he lost.

Alvarez (like Joshua) has a BAD gas tank but he changed his style to where his opponent never exposed that. Bivol is the first fighter in 9 year to expose that because he made Alvarez fight at a pace where his gas tank let him down.

By the mid-to-late round, he was tired, going to the ropes and his punches lost steam & fatigue also affected his defense and Bivol really turned it up & started tagging him with a simple 1-2.

Brilliant game plan from Bivol...make Alvarez fight at a pace where he can't rest.

If Alvarez can fix his stamina, he'll beat Bivol in the rematch...not because he's the better fighter but he'll have enough energy to sustain throwing the eye catching punches, his defense will be a little tighter & he won't retreat the rope, thus swaying the corrupt judges.

Without fixing his stamina, Alvarez will always lose to Bivol.
