Alvarez (like Joshua) has a BAD gas tank but he changed his style to where his opponent never exposed that. Bivol is the first fighter in 9 year to expose that because he made Alvarez fight at a pace where his gas tank let him down.

By the mid-to-late round, he was tired, going to the ropes and his punches lost steam & fatigue also affected his defense and Bivol really turned it up & started tagging him with a simple 1-2.

Because Canelo is really a middleweight but he's made all that money he doesn't want to cut the weight anymore. Let's be honest, Smith, Plant and BJS are C level fighters. Canelo's deficiencies were hidden in those fights. It's really amazing how activity, movement and a simple 1-2 nullifies what's supposed to be the best boxer in the game.

Against Floyd he was dominated a bit more but I think he actually looked much better as a fighter. He actually tried to box much more, threw more punches, jabs, with overall more offensive variety. It shows in the punch stats also. I always laughed at the 'canelo has improved so much' crap, and its been proven to be total crap now. He has actually regressed as a fighter as he turned into a mediocre Tyson wanna be looking for the 1 big punch. lol.

Those "eye-catching" punches, are supposed to catch the eye and cut or close it. They caught basically nothing but air or arms. Alvarez showed up as being a very ordinary pug..
