No there are weight classes for a reason. This was Trinidad vs Hopkins all over again. Too big and too good to overcome. It can be one or the other but not both.Comment

I don't think it would be called running away. If he had won a robbery and didn't give the rematch...yes. But an acknowledgement that it was a bridge too far would be respected. What we don't want is for him to take the rematch because he believes he won the first fight. If he let's pride delude him then he's looking to get hurt.Comment

The problem is, he put a hydration clause on Bivol at 175 so it's obvious that cut will do something do Bivol just like Dawson. Fight him at this weight or move on.Comment

It wasn't the size or weight that came into any serious impact with this fight, it was the simple case of someone being far too tricky for Canelo.
Ironically, someone like Beterbiev who seems the far more dangerous/scary fighter to go against would have suited Canelo more because he wouldn't have been hard to find. Bivol on the other hand seemed like a guy who was good, but very beatable. Obviously not the case now.Comment
