    The Disgraceful Evolution of DAZN

1st. DAZN started off offering 1-month subs for $9.99 with no ads or PPV ever and a 1-month free trial.

2nd. One month Free Trial Dropped.

3rd. Sub increased to $20 a month with no ads or PPV.

4th. Ads were added on top of the $10 increase.

5th. For the biggest fights, you must pay $79.99 for the PPV with Top Rank level undercards and ads shown between every single round of the main event.

All this within the span of four years while they hire 20 commentators for just one boxing event and a majority of them are terrible at their job. Does DAZN even consider the fact that their broadcast team is awful and that no one likes Chris Mannix? And they have the nerve to ask for even more money? Wanted DAZN to succeed but they want to fail.

It's a business. Without enough subscriptions, some costs must rise and some big fights must be PPV. Don't take it personally, it's still about the best deal going with an annual subscription.

I understand that but's very abnormal to charge someone a subscription of $20 and still show video ads during the event. It's even more abnormal to charge $80 for a PPV and still show ads during the fight.

And for a business, they sure do act like a charity when they hire Grisham, Mannix, Mora, Jacobs, Porter, McCaskill, and a couple of others just to host one event.

They charge more then Netflix, Hulu, and Disney for only a fraction of the content.

It's hard to classify DAZN as anything but a strange, expensive flop.

I said what they should have done in the US in particular was try fill that HBO gap, hire that old team, lampley, Kellerman and build up from there.

It's easy to blame just Eddie for this but a lot of people have wasted a lot of money with DAZN

I also wanted them to succeed, they seemed a great option for boxing fans who don't want a cable or satellite subscription where most of your money goes to other sports.

But yeah, they suck let's be honest.

That's what they get for betting everything on Canelo. And it looks like they still haven't learned their lesson. Canelo's bloated salary is going to kill DAZN once and for all.

I think the majority of the positive reaction to DAZN was about fans wanting Haymon to fail.

The fight’s were mostly low quality, other than the low weights which fans don’t really pay attention to, which is why subs never popped in America.

Anyone who read the numerous articles had to realize ppv was an inevitability.

DAZN also lacked a major sport to drive subs.

Good idea that may have worked better if it wasn’t an app bit a partnership with Fox m, NBC Sports or A channel like that.

I mean they can't just continue losing millions and billions of dollars. You have to make money off fights where the purses exceed 50M. You aren't recouping the money off just subscriptions.

DAZN's goal was always to get sports rights to big sports leagues. That has not happened in the USA so they had to adjust their strategy. It happens.
