    Sad but true.
To land a big fight a fighter needs to look like šhit in his last fight.

People felt in love with Canelo`s domination over Plant and Saunders.

If you watch Bivol, he is always great disciplined and he always looks undersized compared to real contenders at 175.

Canelo was one of easiest Bivol`s fights. Canelo just doesn`t have physical attributes to trouble Bivol with his power.

Bivol should actually move down and become a lineal champ at 168. That is a great idea for him.

“if you analyze my recent fights, then people might think that I somehow didn’t box very well. But without these fights, I likely would not have got a fight with Alvarez,"
People who know boxing understand that this is exactly what happened. Yes canelo (or Reynoso) picked a risky fight but they did so because they believed that bivol was vulnerable based in his recent opponents. Canelo almost always has picked guys coming off poor performances and this was no different. They had no idea the level of risk they were walking into and wouldn’t have taken the fight had they known. Their history of opponent selections proves this.

If Canelo really wanted a cherry-pick he would’ve picked Joe Smith. He was high on his recent success, thought he was unbeatable and bit off more than he can chew. Simple as that.

great assessment. His power really shocked Canelo. Every time Bivol landed anything it completely stopped canelo in his tracks. This fight kinda turned out the way GGG-Canelo would with GGG asserting his power early and often.

He was not 100% invested in the fight for whatever reason, of course that’s just my opinion… I expect the rematch to happen and I expect canelo will beat Bivol this time! Bank on it
Canelo doesn’t do anything particularly better than Bivol in the ring, hence why a lot of people on here that actually understand boxing knew it was a real task

Bivol’s ring IQ looked better, their hand speed is pretty equal, Bivol has quicker feet, better jab. The power from both isn’t really a big factor in their fight.

Bivol’s in and out style and work rate left Canelo only being able to look for single shots and made him tired. I don’t see how the rematch would be much different

Yeah, he should really hang his head in shame for beating the #1 lb for lb boxer, who already savagely KO'd one LHW champion, and who was a 5-1 favorite going into the fight. GTFOH. He said himself that he doesn't now consider himself a "king" or #1 lb for lb, he just feels good that the man who came to his division to take his title got sent home packing.
