Comments Thread For: Bivol: Without Richards, Castillo Bouts - I Wouldn't Have Received Canelo Fight
WBA light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol was surprised that so many had him set as a huge underdog in last Saturday's fight with Mexican superstar Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez.

Damn right. Canelo was so ready to cherrypick Bivol, that he immediately wanted to fight Bivol after the Richards fight. This was evident in Canelo having Bivol as his plan B if the Caleb Plant fight fell through.
‘Yes, I feel [the increase in recognition], I felt it even when I was in training. I went to the grocery store, and they recognized me, every time I left the house somewhere, someone took a picture with me. I was surprised that they were adult women in their fifties.’
Yo, Bivol’s just made it with menopausal America: the golden ticket
Canelo will best this man in the rematch. Canelo was off that night. I could tell since the weigh in… something was off, like he got bored of being at the top or something. He was not 100% invested in the fight for whatever reason, of course that’s just my opinion… I expect the rematch to happen and I expect canelo will beat Bivol this time! Bank on it
You guys don't know what you're talking about. Bivol was never anybodies cherry pick. Canelo's motivation is the question. Why Bivol and not Benevidez? Benevidez is the easier fight, or does anybody think Benevidez can beat Bivol? Canelo was bad mouthing Charlo, that would have been a cherry next to Bivol. Canelo doesn't want to dance with the ugly girls.
Ah! So Canelo thought he was cherry picking the easiest of the light heavyweights to get a belt. Just like when Roy Jones went after sorry ass John Ruiz for the heavyweight belt.
