Bivols defense was next level. What really impressed me was how well he had his elbows tucked in to stop the body assault. Canelo, who is a murderous body puncher, could hardly connect to the body clean against a taller lankier fighter, usually eats the body up against lanky guys. Bivol saw everything coming.
Did Canelo Land a Single Flush Head shot? Ded srs

Bivol's face post-fight looks identical to when he walked out basically.
His arm looks a little chewed up but nothing like Smith's.Comment

Bivol said today in an interview that his arm hurts so much today that he can barely throw a jab....he said had it been 15 rounds, he would have had issue using his arm.
Bivol honestly is what I love about him as a fighter.
So it sort of worked but not in the timeframe that Alvarez needed it in.Comment

He tried by punching Bivols arms, and trying to fatigue his arms so they could lower for an opening for a right hook. But, even if Bivol was in pain, he understood what Canelo was doing and didn't lower his arms for that opening. World class stuffComment

Didn't look like it to me, which had me rolling my eyes every time I saw comments about how well Bivol handled Canelo's power. Bivol handled Canelo's power by blocking and moving out of the way of it.
Canelo needed to set those shots up but he was doing little besides swing for the fences.Comment

i dont get why canelo thought punching the arms is gonna do anything? unless canelo has some crazy power... boxer's body is condition to take punches, so unless you are a very heavy handed fighter, punching their arms aint gonna do much.Comment

he was hoping this would happen again

he's giving a new definition to arm punchingComment
