  • I never heard of a challenger getting a rematch. How many times at the apple does he want. He doesn't deserve a rematch because he wasn't the champ and he lost.

To the original point; I don't think Hearn is any worse than any other promoter for legacy. I can't think of any fighter that PBC has taken to great heights for their legacy (Spence about the closest). PBC lined Fury up for Wilder and we see how that went. As for Top Rank, Mayweather left Bob and then went about creating his legacy. Pacquiao ultimately left him as well. Bob let how many career defining fights go up in smoke so they could "marinate"?

Promoters are there to generate revenue for themselves and (hopefully) their fighters. It's ultimately up to the fighter to determine if he wants to chase legacy and/or money. Canelo knew what the fights were before he signed his two fight contract with Hearn over PBC. The loss is on him and his team, it has nothing to do with Hearn.
hearn os a cancer on any good fighter woth all of his hijinks, manipulations, etc. He was given a world-class operation thanks to his Dad, never really built or earned anything, and micromanages his fighter's events with selfishness and greed ... to the point that the fighters miss golden opportunities, miss legacy fights, and carry a lot of bad karma on themselves because of it. It does the sport of boxing a disservice in the long run.

All promoters can be somewhat selfish on their fighters behalf, but hearn is off the cliff. People hate on PBC since they started, hoping and predicting their demise even as they did much of the heavy lifting to revive boxing on TV and in media ... to where it has risen again today. But nobody handed anything to PBC .... quite the opposite actually.

Per your "knock" on PBC about "taking" fighters to great heights, PBC stated from the beginning that they were trying get better earnings and quality of life after boxing for all of their fighters. Of course the individual fighter is responsible for his legacy in the ring. Few fighters have ever had any problem with PBC. Not much bad karma either.

He also said that might give him all the belts at 168, i was not following, but could be another reason. This was in bivols own interview next day after the fight.
Bivol would beat him at 168 too. They would both rehydrate much higher. Canelo would be looking for his usual weight-bully advantage but it probably wouldn't work with Bivol. I'd expect Bivol to beat him at any weight they both can meet.

Well, if Dimitri wants to take that risk, that's on him. But Canelo's goal is to be the first Mexican to have the most belts in the most divisions, so beating Bivol at 168 would only serve to avenge the loss at LHW. It would not award him Bivol's LHW crown.
