I say yes! A lot will be on the line tomorrow night!

Yes, Bivol is a legit 175 champ a win over him makes Canelo the greatest White fighter ever.

No, other Whites like Marciano and Willie Pep would still be ahead of him.

Definitely not but it would be a great feat though if he wins.

Canelo can beat Bivol, Beterbiev-Smith winner, Mairis Breidis at Cruiser, and Oleksandr Usyk at 201lbs and he would not be accepted as the best white fighter of all time by that group of fans. Lol. Even though the guy is probably 100% European by any modern genetic testing.

But he would absolutely go down as the greatest Mexican fighter of all time. And I mean, who would be a greater Latino/Hispanic boxer in history? I think beating Bivol puts him atop that list honestly. Boxing fans need to get over it. Chavez, JMM, MAB, Morales, Lopez…Canelo is better than them. Sorry. And I love JMM’s ability and resume to death.

If Dempsey, Marciano, Pep, and a couple guys from the WW2 generation are not counted, then yes.

But it's sort of like saying that Floyd is the best black boxer ever as long as we don't count Robinson, Armstrong, Lewis, etc.

Canelo probably is the best, but as long as his only competition is preemptively excluded, then what's the point of even asking or answering?

            I'd agree with that.

Beating Bivol would make him the #1 Mexican of all time for me.

Would say the #1 Latino is still Carlos Ortiz, IMO.

Guys, forget about all that nationality mumbo jumbo crap for once. This thread is strictly race driven. Where does Canelo rank all time with a win tomorrow night as far as the White's go?

I don't know if nationality and race are so cut and dry in this case. I never regarded Canelo as a white fighter, not ever. When I think of a white fighter, I think of someone like Callum Smith or Joe Smith. I never thought of Mexicans as white. I know Mexican is not a race. Whites claiming Canelito is weak.

                    From the top of my head most people would consider him below;

                    Harry Greb
                    Willie Pep
                    Barney Ross
                    Jimmy Mclarnin
                    Gene Tunney
                    Benny Leonard
                    Mickey Walker
                    Tony Canzoneri
                    Jake Lamotta
                    Billy Conn

                    Other's I'll surely have forgotten.
