Stevenson is all he says he is but the knockdown was partly because Valdez was off balance. Watch it again. But Valdez did not have the answer to Stevenson that night--maybe never will.

Nah,as gifted as he is as a pure technical boxer,his lack of pop will always hinder his ability to be a "crowd pleaser" . Same affliction Haney suffers from. He took the center of the ring because of the physical advantages he had against Valdez. Don't believe he'll be as comfortable against big punchers at 135 and above,especially when they don't have to be too leary on what's coming back in return. I suspect when he moves he"ll revert to being more defensive minded and struggle to build his appeal to casuals because of it. Kid will have a great career,probably on par with Wards as far as stardom and appeal.

I was very impressed with Stevenson, dude has some serious skill, appreciate both fighters taking the fight, now let's see Stevenson vs Haney, Loma and Davis, those will be some damn good fights!

Stevenson is missing the crispy punching. He doesn't seem to have much power. A shame because he is defensively sound.

He could have knocked Valdez out in 6 rounds if he wanted to be a crowd pleaser, but why risk it? It's the Mayweather way. Putting the crowd to sleep instead of the opponent.

Stevenson didn't move as much as he used to earlier in his career. Valdez just could not get past the jab and was not consistent enough with his offense. His straight right landed plenty but nothing after that.

Stevenson did run towards the end of the fight which left a sour taste in some fans mouth but overall a very good performance.

On to bigger and better things!

Run in the 12th round when the fight is almost done? Yea he was supposed to. Why give the guy a chance to clip you with a few seconds left?? To please a crowd that would turn and call you stupid for doing it if he did get KTFO...
