He would need three Adalaides for a decision as he won't get close enough to degrade Usyk with body shots and get a ko.
Usyk is golden at 201. He's barely bulked up at all for heavyweight. He was like 220 lbs in the ring vs AJ, right? So he is already a cruiserweight still. He just needs to do a normal Canelo Alvarez type 20 lbs weight cut the night before the weigh in, then rehydrate it the next day. He doesn't even need to train down to cruiserweight. He can just train exactly the same as he trained for AJ, then do the Canelo weight cut the night before the weigh in, and then put it back on. Works for Canelo. He still stays strong, great chin, even his stamina is getting better. Usyk can just do the same thing. Weight cutting science is common knowledge for all the top trainers, so he should be able to do it.

And worse case scenario, he can do it over a week, instead of in just one day, and still be way bigger than Canelo.

Canelo will EASILY out point Usyk. Easy work. Small men are far too fast for big men.
Jones beat one of the worst champions in heavyweight history in John Ruiz. Usyk is just as talented as Canelo but much naturally bigger.

Canelo is a plodder at 168. He'd be lead-footed at 201. Usyk is so far ahead of Canelo athletically it isn't even funny. The Cat would dance circles around and tear Saul apart at any weight. Do you remember what Usyk did to Gassiev? It'd go about like that, but it wouldn't go 12.

They both ducked so many prime opponents that we'll never really know how good either of them were. In that sense, you can compare them. But based on eye test, Roy Jones Jr was not just faster and more powerful than Canelo, he was also bigger, longer, and more mobile. He basically had everything over Canelo except for maybe short range fundamentals and guard, but Canelo doesn't punch hard enough for it to matter. Even older Roy Jones Jr took some of Lebedev's best shots. Lebedev is a little like Canelo except 50 lbs bigger.

My opinion is that Usyk would chew up Alvarez and spit him out in about 5-7 rounds.
He seems, from his record, and the descriptions of his fights, to be far superior as a boxer and a tactician. And he HAS a punch., Of 17 fights, including his heavyweight fights, he has 14 KOs. And in all of those, and those he's won on points he's won overwhelmingly, except for the one close fight with Briedis.

Very much like Roy Jones who hardly ever dropped a round until he fought Tarver. Vitali Klitschko the same.

And he's had NO gift decisions like Alvarez had had.

So I don't understand the Alvarez fans optimism.
Based on the dominance of Usyk's performances and his style, if Usyk fought at 168 and had those performances at 168, shouldn't he still be the favorite vs Canelo? And yet, he had those performances at 200 and heavyweight.

I mean, Boxing is a fake sport, so who cares? Let's see it. It's something new and interesting in a sport that has felt pretty played out in the Mayweather era and onward. It's just a show at the end of the day, so would you rather see a more interesting show or a less interesting show? I mean in a way, Jake Paul vs Floyd was a lot more interesting action, even as an exhibition, than most these fights between guys the same size. And the size difference there is similar to Canelo vs Usyk.

Floyd vs Jake Paul was very competitive, and many thought Floyd won a close decision. So if we pretend Canelo is as good as Floyd, then as long as Usyk is about the same skill level as Jake Paul, Canelo definitely has a chance to win!

Lol just kidding. You can't actually expect any consistency or logic in boxing like that. Hopefully they make the "fight" and they find a way to make it interesting and exciting.

Usyk would toy with Canelo. It's no slight on Canelo but Usyk is too good and too big. Saul's power would be nothing at that weight and his work rate would be even lower than it is now.

this is pretty weird from hearn, he is normally more rational. I dont like him throwing this out there right before the big fight with bivol. this is just weird, he was calling canelo delusional the other day, he is his promoter, this is almost getting as bad as Arum bad mouthing his fighters.

I do think that maybe hearn is just trying to get headlines to generate more PPVs though for the current fight.

You are completely out of your mind if you think Canelo can beat Usyk. When Roy did it, he wasn't facing the heavyweight champion of the world, the unified heavyweight champion of the world. And Canelo is no RJJ.
