Okay that makes two people that don't even remotely understand the US market.

      "Take over"?

How was a "foreign guy" (pro-tip: we're all foreign guys here and discriminate based on race, not country of origin in America. No one cares that Hearn is English. Nonfactor.) going to "take over" if he can't make a dent with a BILLION DOLLAR bank roll?

Everything Hearn was saying about building from the ground up in America, turning boxing into an exciting night out experience, not taking easy casino money, etc was 100% hot air. He didn't invest a single dollar in any of that. If he had had a real plan, instead of throwing DAZN's money at random black fighters and just expecting the business to explode, he might have been able to build something cool here. Which in turn would give him credibility, and that might have enticed some names to join DAZN. We'll never know.

Instead, everyone at PBC/GBP/Top Rank is watching Devin Haney, Matchroom USA's only blue-chip American prospect, go to Australia to fight back-to-back fights because DAZN wasn't interested in investing any more money in Haney and thus he had zero leverage.

Hearn does an incredible job with boxing in the UK. Credit where it's due, but he should stick to what he's good at.

He finally hit a homerun with Taylor vs Serrano. But how many of those types of events does he realistically think he can keep coming up with?

Canelo is a big draw but Hearn had nothing to do with that. And Alvarez is not exclusive to DAZN as he is willing to work with other promoters and networks.

Is there really a clear no1 promotion in America in the first place? I guess PBC probably edges it but its not like Top Rank is a distant second considering they have Fury, Bud, Loma etc. Matchroom can obviously get in the mix but it'd take a ridiculous amount of money and effort to establish yourself as the market leader, and even then its probably not gonna happen if you're showing your stuff exclusively on a (so far pretty niche) streaming service instead of getting major network deals.

Tbh, theres more chance of Matchroom no longer being no1 in the UK in 2 years than becoming no1 in America.

Matchroom hasn't even taken over the UK, let alone America lol.

Boxxer are the guys to sign with over here, not Matchroom or Queensberry.

He has a better chance of actually taking over the the country than the boxing scene. Call up some of those "insurrectionists" Eddy and see what you can pull off lol

PBC having PPVs for lowly fighters does not bode well for their long-term future

I wonder of Eddie Hearn could create a american version of Anthony Joshua or Tyson Fury. I think that should be one of his side goals. To create a superstar for American boxing fans.

But there as to be fighters out there, who also want to be superstars. They have to have the character, originality and vision 'Ability'.
