    Mayweather-Pacquiao was 7 years ago.

Today is the 7 year anniversary of the biggest fight of this generation: Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Manny Pacquiao.

Where were you when this fight happened? Who did you think was going to win the fight? Are you disappointed with how the fight turned out?

I was a student at that time. No chance to fly to the US and watch the fight in Las Vegas. So we did the next best thing and got a ticket to manila. Ended up watching the fight on a livestream in a small stadium. Was pretty awesome.
The Stream didnt work in round 10, so everyone was running out to find a spot to watch it lol.
After Pacquiao lost, it felt like a funeral.

Watched the fight with a couple buddies at home. Knew Floyd would win easily, didn't really have a rooting interest as I think both guys are great fighters and horrible people.

          Didn't watch it.

Pacquiao hadn't knocked out anyone in many, many years when they fought. Floyd was the hardest to hit guy in boxing. A Pacquiao KO was not a possibility... so was Pacquiao just going to outbox Floyd Mayweather? Please.

My main worry headed into the fight was that everyone was going to buy it hoping Pacquiao could redeem his shortcomings in the years prior - and then be disappointed. The media had sold this "Rocky vs Apollo" angle to rivalry which wasn't grounded in reality at all. In reality, Floyd was the one living a clean lifestyle and working as hard as the day he started - it was Pacquiao who was fighting part time, refusing to do his training regiment that took him to the top in the first place, eventually not even bothering to come to LA for eight weeks, etc.

I knew it wasn't gonna be an entertaining fight to watch. The only reason anyone bought it was to see Pacquiao beat Mayweather. It didn't happen and everyone who spent their money was left deeply unsatisfied. Would have been better for the sport if it never even happened.

Had a massive fight party. Logged on to NSB to talk sh-t to some of the long time pac fans I beefed with and clown the loser pac stans that wash Manny’s nuts with their mouth.

I thought Manny wouldn’t go out like he did: Figured he’d be losing late at least try to win by ko and maybe get knocked down on the way to losing by wide UD.

Instead he pretty much gave up after the first right hand landed. Give him credit for the 4th and 9th rounds.

Fight wasn’t a classic like we hoped. As with others the fight showed the wide gap between Floyd and all of his competitors.

              And 7 years to late…

Like several other posters, I had a fight party, nothing too serious, mainly just friends of mine who actually follow the sport.

                - - Guaranteed dud once l'l floydy and he daddy belatedly manned up after issuing a public letter of apology to Manny with a handsome check for civil damages several years before the ****** fight.

No sport bar here would even show the fight because l'l floydy stunk so bad.

Lmfao. Dude Manny was the one that stunk it up. He fought 2 rounds. The rest he was content to get a check and not get countered.

Then afterward he claimed injury as the excuse- only he forgot we all saw him raising his arms and taking selfies with said “injured” shoulder.

Useless fight, waste of time. Controversial and no rematch. .Too much talking points other than fight and result itself, like shouldergate, IV gate, no rematch gate.?
just like will Smith hitting Chris rock overshadowed Oscar's 2022. Who won best actress, best supporting actor?
