Whyte was looking to steady himself when the ref waved it off this was the real universally recognized heavyweight champion of the world title bout and the ref spoiled it by getting jumpy. I wouldn’t be surprised if Whyte asks for a rematch it was fairly close even with the knockdown it the ref let it continue I’d have Fury ahead by 58-55. Still a close fight before the 3rd man got spooked.
A bit of an early stoppage lads

Are you joking or being serious? Whyte did steady himself, but when the referee said "come to me" Whyte couldn't walk and stumbled to the ropes and had to be grabbed by the referee as it appeared he would go down again. When the referee says "come to me" that's specifically done to determine if the fighter has his legs. No competent referee would ever allow a fight to continue after the way Whyte fell apart there.Whyte was looking to steady himself when the ref waved it off this was the real universally recognized heavyweight champion of the world title bout and the ref spoiled it by getting jumpy. He did wobble there’s no dis*****g that but the ref grabbed him almost immediately and called it off this was the heavyweight championship of the world give the man a chance. It wasn’t the time to make a bad decision im sure Whyte would agree he just needed maybe 1 extra second to compose himself and he could’ve continued.

From my view, he stumbled onto the ref. He had to grab him or go down with him.

In the replay the other lad posted I could’ve sworn the ref actually pulls Whyte forward making it look like his wobble was way way worse than what it really was. It’s a shame sometimes a fighter gets to have his career decided by bad reffing.Comment

You might have a point if this was the first time he's been in that position, but it wasn't; he's had his career decided 3 times by an uppercut. Not like he was really doing anything the whole fight anyway.Last edited by AKAcronym; 04-23-2022, 09:50 PM.Comment

He was done. With a full tank he had lost every round. His stamina had begun to fade and Fury was going to continue teeing off on him.Comment

There is a reason boxers delay getting up and take maximum advantage of the 10-count instead of getting up on wobbly legs. Had he done that, he might have survived this round as it was near to the end of it, but truth be told Whyte was done here. As someone else said, he couldn't do anything with full stamina let alone after getting up from an uppercut. The refs have to follow the rules and there is nothing wrong with what the referee did here.Comment
