Comments Thread For: Hearn Plans to 'Aggressively' Pursue Gervonta Davis Once Contract is Up

Eddie Hearn is not shy about tipping his hand as it relates to nabbing prospective clients. The head of Matchroom Boxing made it clear recently he would make an "aggressive" play to try and sign hard-punching lightweight Gervonta Davis. Of course, Hearn's gambit depends on whether or not Davis would be contractually cleared to entertain such an offer. Davis has long fought under the Mayweather

A win win situation for Tank, he should be able to negotiate a better deal with an auction for his signature.

Tank is the future P4P King. Nash predicted this 5 years ago and he is still well on course, especially once he starts earning with Hearn and leaves the Exhibition man. Nash out.

Fast Eddie can take tanks career to astonishing new low points like he did andrade and haney. Fights with Leigh wood micheal conlan josh warrington are all he has to offer

What is this comedy hour? Eddie Hearn must understand that Gervonta Davis is Al Haymon's fighter. He's only linked with Floyd through optics. It will be a chilly day in Hell before Al Haymon allows Hearn to snatch Tank Davis away from him. Besides, Tank said that he is moving on from Mayweather not the PBC.

Matchroom pretty much in a coma right now. Eddie chucking his balls to the wall hoping something can stick.

Hearn is like a terrified roach scurrying around.

Hearn can’t even win purse bids on fights involving his own fighters. He apparently can’t keep the Usyk-Joshua from being held outside London. And he has few attractions left on either side of the pond, which has left him desperately clinging to Canelo’s coattails and trying to rouse interest in a Warrington-Santa Cruz fight that no one really interested in. Tough times for Matchroom

I don’t know much about how boxing people conduct their business, and I see Eddie Hearn’s had his wins (and his losses) like any promoter.

But if I can use another sport as an example, I’ve noticed that the football (soccer) clubs who keep their business dealings under wraps are the ones who seem to acquire the majority of their transfer targets, for example, Liverpool football club.

Those clubs who conduct very public negotiations for players, carried in the papers for months sometimes, are often less successful.

There’s a lesson in this, somewhere.
