Comments Thread For: Hearn Plans to 'Aggressively' Pursue Gervonta Davis Once Contract is Up

I see many people talking about the rift between Gervonta and Floyd. As maybe one of the biggest Davis fans on NSB, and a former huge Floyd fan, I don't think Davis needs to leave Mayweather Promotions, period. Not at least for not matching him up right.
Floyd and team literally invested a lot in Davis, it doesn't always have to be about money. Moneywise, he's OK, too. Loma made 750k total in his last fight, some say 250k. I'm a Loma fan too. He's my top 2 at lightweight. Davis makes more.
I think he's the most well paid current lightweight. He can be more assertive going forward if he wants a precise fight. I look around and don't see who he is avoiding. I like the Loma fight, even Loma knows that from reading my posts on NSB.
Stick with Floyd. I'd take 5mil per fight from Floyd than 15mil from Hearn.
Don't burn this bridge.
[People talking about Haymon. Haymon can't screw Floyd. Davis is a Floyd fighter. Al can give a laid back advice and that's it. Floyd is a major PBC investor, but even if Davis leaves his promotion, I don't see Floyd sabotaging a Davis fight on Showtime.]
Gervonta can work with Hearn if Hearn has anything worthy, not just a big check. Hearn won't be needed for a Davis-Haney fight.Last edited by BoxingIsGreat; 04-18-2022, 10:22 PM.Comment

Or maybe work with Oscar and GBP for 3 fights on DAZN: JoJo, Zepeda, and Ryan. That's 2 years to assess your future options. Steer clear of Hearn.Comment

What are the big fights Matchroom has for him? I've been hearing of a guy called Hughes something.
One thing, tho, I think Hearn can make the Loma fight, with his deep pockets. So can Oscar and so can Floyd.
Mayweather Promotions needs a good matchmaker.Last edited by BoxingIsGreat; 04-19-2022, 12:14 AM.Comment
