I rewatched Usyk vs AJ: 1 camp can't fix AJ

Because the simple fact is by far his biggest issues are physical.

He has a glass jaw and poor stamina, these are issues that are very very very hard to fix or improve.

In terms of actual boxing skill, AJ stayed with Usyk for most of the fight until he gassed. AJ was jabbing decently, and while a couple of rounds between 1-8 were big for Usyk it wasn't that wide early on.

The issues for AJ were his chin, and his gas tank and the fact he KNOWS both are poor.

If he had even decent chin and stamina, he would have put his foot on the gas and opened up a few times and honestly I think that was really the difference in this fight.

He knew he couldn't do that so he had to fight conservatively and cautiously and got out worked and STILL gassed out late on and collapsed on his stool for 300 long seconds.

He can't fix these issues so in the rematch he has to:

    A) hope Usyk turns up 190lbs and depressed

    B) try blast Usyk away in the first 4 rounds or at the VERY least try and put some serious damage on his body early that will prevent the late fight resurgence.

Personally I think both of these are unlikely and this will be the last we see of Mr Johnston.

AJ had massive success with the lead straight right and body shots. That's the way to beat the southpaw. He used his jab too much and got countered and then hesitant. Usyk will walk onto the straight right every time if AJ uses it more.

The jab should just be a ploy for Usyk to walk onto the lead right and body shots. I actually don't think there's too much to do here, besides game plan and stamina.

Usyk has too much ability and too good of an engine, AJs only hope is to sleep him because he will not outbox him.

Josh needs to not give usyk too much time to think. I think Josh can d9 it first fight was competitive. Even if you win first fight easy tomoro is another day and in rematch you might be one to lose easy next time.
The only issue is if you get a rematch if you lose easy. Floyd beat nel o comfortably so there's excuses not to give rematch. Morales beat pac, and Pac reversed it

Pretty much. His chin isnt great, stamina isnt great, hes not good enough technically and although he does hit pretty hard its not anything Usyk hasnt already dealt with before. I know a lot of people are talking about how AJ needs to be more aggressive and use his physical advantages next time, which is true, but its easier said than done when the other guy is more skilled, quicker, more durable and has a better gas tank.

The fact that AJ got cold feet about going to America/Mexico and building himself up in a new gym, new environment where he’s not famous, etc. and just promoted someone from his camp said a lot.

Its like when Golovkin hired Johnathan Banks... it was clear he was not planning on accomplishing much more in the sport.
