That's what they done for his last couple of fights. And I agree. I'd take him out the spotlight again after tonight. It'll keep him humble and he can deal with the pressure in measured doses.

I am aware that Hatton jr. has six professional bouts and three armature fights, but who told him he was ready for the pros?

That's just it. Maybe they rushed him in so he could make some $ on the name. If he went amateur first and was obviously terrible before hitting pro, would his name have had any marketability at that point?

It's just a thought. Maybe he would have improved in amateur, or maybe his showing there would've severely limited his dream to be a pro fighter. In most circumstances, a boy looks up to his dad, so it's hard if you want to follow his footsteps and fill really big shoes and fall short of the talent needed. At least this way, if he goes nowhere and moves on, he'll be able to say he did it. That's probably a big deal to the kid of a great boxer.
