Since he's not fat anymore(by his standards, anyway), you'd think he would step his competition up now.

That Saudi money ruined this guy and whatever career he was gonna have. He's getting more useless tattoos while going less rounds.

That's almost every relevant opponent tied up.

I'd have loved to see Ruiz beat the French creme out of Yoka but realistically the BEST we could have hoped for was Chisora or maybe Michael Hunter to come out of witness protection.
          Sanchez
          Helenius
          Kownacki
          Wallin
          Hunter
          Gassiev
          Chisora
          Kabayel
          Hughie
          Bakole
          Martin

You're telling me NOBODY in the top 50 was available?

C'mon man. Spong hasn't boxed in over 3 years, has zero good wins, and got knocked out in an MMA fight the last time he fought in any sport.

It's actually about a mile and a half. I always thought that Mexico City, like Washington D.C, had been built on a swamp. Reading about the conquest of Mexico by the Spaniards I'm sure that the city was on marsh land and approached only over causeways, through marshes and across rivers etc.
Maybe I'm confusing it with one of Edgar Rice Burrough's stories about Mars......!!

It's not a mega fight so why are they scheduling it so far off? Because everyone, Triller, Ruiz, Spong, all of them need an out. Ruiz might not be healthy right now. Spong is probably on the juice, cycling off now. Triller ofc doesn't have their **** together.
One of the earlier posters said that Ruiz is just back from knee surgery and this is his first fight. So it' a tune-up, and of course Triller has to try to make it into a Thriller...!!

Yes, those tattoos are gruesome. I have never understood why people want to disfigure their skins with tattoos. They are unnatural and ugly.

Ducked Ortiz again like when he said that a tuneup against 40yo Arreola was required.

AJ's resume continues ageing like piss. Ruiz Jr, even at his best, is not top 10 material.

I just looked it up. A book which I own is William H. Prescott's conquest of Mexico. It's a classic and the major book on the Spanish conquest of Mexico. The original City was built by the indigenous inhabitants on several Islands in the middle of a lake.

So that's what I was talking about . And it's about 7500 feet elevation. A mile is 5280, as I recall from my young days at school (I won't say how long ago) so it's about a lile and a third -plus. If Ruiz has taken off all that flab as someone has posted, then his cardio must be in good shape , And many fighters train in specially built camps in the mountains, at least they used to, so a lot depends on where he trained, as well as how much.

Maybe that's a good reason why the boxers of 50-75 years ago were far tougher, could fight harder, and more often, than the swaddled prima donnas of today.
