So yeah , it was still competitive to that point
In the 7th , Lubin got his revenge and knocked Fundora down and I believe that is when he suffered the shoulder injury
I’ve seen worse cases where it wasn’t granted but they got the rematch

What I am saying is if he had survived without the injury, we would be complaining about a robbery because I don't see how the judges had Lubin up at that point.
I mean that's hard to tell. Maybe he would have had a shot but to me Fundora was winning the fight despite the scorecards. I had it 4-3 Fundora after the 7th round. Then Lubin stopped throwing in the next two two rounds and it was all but over.

Still though, just a bad match up for Lubin.

That being said if Lubin trained for a full time fire fight and worked on stepping around that kind of pressure he would get better results. I'm just not sure he could manage to beat Fundora it's a bad style match up for him.
Fundora might as well can negate that. The very few times Lubin did it he did well. Also he didn't hold as much but the worst thing Lubin was doing was keeping his head in the center. Those uppercuts just landed too easily.

Sorry, but seeing his face as swollen as it was, was a very telling sign. Was he hurting? Who knows? Did it look like it hurt? Yes. The question is, how will be treated by refs and other fighters?

I'm in the mind that most fighters will either be even more emboldened to fight him or they'll steer clear because he was beaten so badly and disfigured by Fundora. As far as refs go...if he's ever hurt again or has taken a few shots, they'll probably look to stop his fights a lot sooner.

Again, the image of his swollen face is second to none when it comes to most post-fight injuries. Hope he heals up and makes the best moves from here on out. Who knows what will happen with Charlo/Castano and afterwards...there could 4 vacant belts out there sometime next year and he'll probably be more than willing to give it another go.

This fight just goes to show that it’s not as easy as “just box.”

Lubin was completely dominated. Yes he had moments. That said, he took a severe and brutal beating.

Fondura should move on to the elite in the division.

Lubin has now lost both times he’s fought upper echelon opponents in the division. He needs to rebuild back and hopefully he can land another title shot down the road.
It's weird to think that he's only 26 but now has a long road ahead of him. It's one thing losing to the elite (Jermell) but Fundora is just now a contender.

Yeah and I'm not 1 for holding but he shouldve held more to break up the action and get some distance he may well have been able to alter Fundoras game plan if he did it enough

Ok. These are all solid points. Maybe revisit this in a couple years. But not 2022 or 23. Fundora should be rewarded with bigger fights .
