Watching GGG-Murata, I don't see how that was a bad performance from GGG

My question is how can a guy be considered slow to pull the trigger, when he throws 629 punches in 9 rounds. Yet the guy considered to be too much for him, throws about 250 punches per fight in that same timeframe?

That argument just makes 0 sense.

As I've said a number of times now, the pace will be much different in a GGG-Canelo fight, than it was vs GGG Murata or GGG Derevy.

I think GGG will be vulnerable in the early rounds, but if Canelo can't dent him in that span, then the last 6-8 rounds should still favor GGG. His stamina and workrate are still much better than Canelo's and if the pace is fought where Canelo has to fight and throw 50 plus punches per round, it favors GGG.

If Canelo is able to walk GGG back in this fight, and pick his shots all night, then yes I could see a beating for GGG or even a stoppage if he just has nothing left.

But odds are GGG is going to throw 60+ punches per round. Plant only threw 40 per round. That is a huge disparity and is not what Canelo will be hoping to deal with. If he has to deal with 60-70 shots per round then it is a much different fight than Plant/Saunders/Smith.

I also struggle to see how Canelo will beat BIvol, unless some strings are pulled for him.

He can't pull the trigger...but he lands more punches vs Murata than Canelo threw vs Saunders. And throws 400 more than Canelo threw. It's like there is no good analysis on this site.

Not sure what these gentlemen watched or saw , GGG looked fughin horrible
His movement is not there , especially fighting on back foot , no speed very predictable actually and his defence became his face
If he doesn’t stay down from body shot , he will be brutally knocked out

I say horrible and it’s harsh , rather say he looked like a 40 year old fighter
After all he stuck and won the fight but Murata is known as Mr give it away , give it away man
So, no speed, couldn't fight on back foot, very predictable, only was taking punches - yet he outlanded Murata quite handily in EVERY round lol.

Murata gave it away because he took an absolute beating in pretty much every round. After 4 or so rounds he was just going on fumes. The inability to see stuff like that, leaves someone very surprised when the final result happens.

'How did my guy lose' they ask lol. It's like when people were surprised Canelo KOd Saunders lol. It was obvious Canelo was just beating on him and it was a matter of time.

GGG is 40 and Canelo could certainly hurt him to the body. But most people on here have no idea how to analyze fights and fighters to be honest. Just a lot of parroting what they hear and not understanding what they are seeing.

OK well when GGG pushes a pace that Canelo doesn't like, don't be surprised if the fight goes 12 rounds again and Canelo has his hands full, especially late in the fight.

So serious question - if all that has deteriorated so badly - why is he landing so many punches per round compared to someone like Canelo?

Never seen a shot 40 yr old fighter just get his third win out of nowhere and the bigger, stronger fighter just decides to stop punching after he spits out his mouthpiece. Wilder and Scott wrote all over the fight. People are foolish to think DAZN will let the revenue stream get messed up after a 4.2 billion recapitalization. This fight pretty much shows you why they didn't push for an Andrade unification. Andrade is hard as hell to hit cleanly and is very good at picking apart limited mobility and flat-footed fighters

I think Murata's gameplan was to come out like a samurai and push the pace and try to take it to GGG, a la Derevy. He still got outlanded in every round, and took some huge shots every round that led to him getting stopped rather easily by round 9.

Canelo doesn't have the stamina to push that pace, and even if he did, it's a really dumb move for Canelo because he has other means to win. He knows he can go 12 and win or at least come close enough to get a decision at home.

I think GGG looked bad at times vs Derevy but I don't understand the talk about this fight vs Murata. Like I said, he will be vulnerable early vs Canelo, but if this pace is fought at the same pace of every other GGG fight, including the other 2 Canelo fights, then Canelo will have his hands full more than GGG as the fight goes late.

I as a former Golovkin fan struggled to find a single round that he would've won.

36 yr old Murata 2 years inactive because of Corona prob in Japan kept him on the back foot for much if most of the fight.

When Canelo went on the back foot in the first fight, he wasn't getting knocked back, he was just keeping Golovkin from setting up his feet for punching while walking him into counter punches. Golovkin was getting knocked back and looked bewildered, like he didn't know where he was at times.

This was likely the last bout overseen by the now bankrupt Japanese boxing commish and it showed in the scoring that had Golovkin ahead wide. I have no prob with the stoppage other than 1. After getting knocked sideways and buckled, Murata had enough left to duck the left hook finisher, but not enough strength to prevent hitting the floor. 2. Flying towel. Never seen that in a Japanese fight much less a high profile one.

Canelo gets ZER00000000 credit for fighting and beating Golovkin yet again, and moreover if he knocks him out, it makes Canelo the ultimate heel. Canelo is already near the point of retirement having accomplished most everything he could possibly dream of, so he can make his money and retire in peace knowing he did his best to make boxing the sport of Kings, paupers, and n'er do wells as is the history of boxing.

Dunno, maybe it was last week U was hatched
GGG outlands the guy in every round, and beats on him so badly that after 4 or 5 rounds he is ready to be done and it is just a matter of time.

Not sure what there is to hate on there, and what you aren't seeing, but keep watching. Try to watch without emotion involved though, it helps you to see what is actually going on. Not just trying to see what you want to see.

You need a lot of practice with that!!!
