-He has almost no defensive skills
-He launches only knockout punches, and so tends to punch himself out, instead of throwing a variety of shots, some intended just to score or set up bigger shots.

note: i've only seen fights of his from the 70s (Fraizer, Ali, Lyle), so maybe he was a more developed fighter during his second run in the 80s/90s, i'm not sure...

I agree with you. But when Foreman crushed Frazier for the title, you must remember that Frazier was thought of much like Tyson, unbeatable. Frazier had just beaten Ali and I think he took Foreman lightly. This fight, in my opinion is the only reason he's mentioned as an all time great. After beating Frazier, it was all down hill for Big George in his first career.
As for his second career, I think calling him a two time world heavyweight champion is a joke.

So he did not knock Michael Moorer out, and become the oldest heavyweight champion of all time?

              a sentence for you:

"IT HAPPENED" a few years ago.

Why you would say: "that is a joke", is beyond boxing.

Calling Foreman a two time world champion is a joke, as so was his fight (if you can call it that) with Moorer. After losing every round he got lucky.........and that is all it was. He didn't earn that title shot (look at his record) it was a gift.
How you can't call it a joke is beyond boxing. (whatever that means)

It wasn't a lucky punch. It's not like he just closed his eyes and swung for the fences. Moorer was a good fighter in the prime of his career. If anything, it shouldn't be held against Foreman so much as Moorer.

There is no such thing as luck its jsut a good punch. Foreman had hell of a chin and unmatched power so who cares if he had no defense. He was a monster and all time great.
