Cotto, Pacquiao, Froch, Kessler, Haye, Joshua, Rigondeaux, Brook, Khan, Barrera, Briedis, Groves. Some of the other British fighters from that era; Bellew, the Smiths, Campbell, Macklin, Murray, Cleverly, Burns, Saunders, Yafai, Eubank, De Gale. Some headliners, some way down the card.

Randomly went to a press conference for a fight that never happened; Berto Vs Mosley and there was a lot of boxing people there mingling. De La Hoya, Haye, Katsidis, Khan, Doug Fischer. Judah too I think.

Seeing how he SOUNDLY whipped all those men. I’d bet money on all of those fights being done again outside of the U.S.

One time, Frank Sinatra walked into my shop. I say, "Frank, you hang out with Joe Louis. Just between me and you, how old is Joe Louis?" Know what Frank told me? He said "Joe Louis is a hundred thirty-seven years old." A hundred and thirty-seven years old!

              Not true at all.

Kessler was the heavy bookies favourite.

              Arthur Abraham second.

Ward wasn’t even considered to be a dark horse.

Well i remember kesslers team were not happy with having to go to oakland as the champ in his first fight, they clearly saw ward as the biggest threat to their guy, most people i know thought ward would win that one actually & a lot made quite a lot of money on it

Actually i think floyd put a big bet on it too, if i recall correctly

Well...I saw Butterbean beat up some poor stiff in Rosemont, Illinois back in '99. So, I've got that going for me. Which is nice.

Danny Green and Anthony Mundine. Never met Jeep Horn though.
I haven’t met a lot of those on the list tbh just seen them fight live, I thought that’s what the OP meant. Some of them I have met a lot of the British stars like Hatton, Fury, AJ, Froch, Khan but not many of the foreign fighters.

I’ve met quite a few at conventions or signings like Roy, Toney, Hearns, Spence, Porter etc but it’s only a quick conversation and a picture (if you pay for one) so it’s not really authentically meeting them.

The two best guys I’ve met in boxing are Robert Alcazar and John H Stracey.

I was in the food court in the MGM grand and I seen a guy in a team Munguia tracksuit sit down on the table next to me and it was Alcazar. He he gave me some great insight about a Oscar and why he’s so f***ed up now and the sport in general. Really nice dude.

I actually met Stracey in Iceland not the country the supermarket. I’m from Liverpool originally but live in Cheshire now, I’d gone to visit my brother in law who lives in a place called Wallasey and I was just nipping the shops to grab some ice lolly’s, ice cream or some sh** like that for his kids. Anyway, as I’m queuing up at the checkout, this guy in front of me looks the image of John H, I thought there’s no way it could possibly be him and then I heard him speak to the cashier and I heard a ****ney accent and it turns out he moved down here years back. So I politely introduced myself and he seemed surprised somebody still recognised him and he invited me to join him for a coffee. So many great stories about the Napoles fight, how he was screwed in the Dave Boy Green fight etc. Easily the best conversation I’ve had with a former fighter.
