That's the way I saw it as well. Sanchez has always seemed to have an ego and an inflated worth of himself as a trainer in most interviewsive seen of him. He stated he lost because "he didn't do what I told him to do" is a reflection of that and seems self serving if you ask me that and Sanchez always had a hard on for Canelo.

the judges saw that Golovkin could not get his game going at all, and was forced onto the back foot for long periods in that fight

lets not pretend that never happened LMAO

Ggg and Canelo 2 was similar to Loma vs Teo in the fact that the older fighter fought the first half of the fight tentatively and then coming on late to make it close.

          good post

people who think Golovkin won the rematch, desperately needed him to win the rematch

that earlier conversation those two guys were having about boxing fans being able to score a fight better than judges, and about boxing fans being honest and impartial... is the ******est nonsense that I have ever read on this site

ironically, one of those guys is a total fanboy and proven liar LMAO

There was no crying and sobbing from GGG after the fight.

The worse injury either fighter suffered was the long gash over Canelo's left eye. He still carries a visible scar from that cut.

As a GGG fan, trying my best to be objective, I scored the fight a draw when I watched it back a couple days later. Watching it live on the night I thought GGG had won clearly by dominating the last 4 rounds. Most neutral fans and reporters thought the same.
Abel told him during the fight though, that he is fighting the wrong fight. Abel was not trying to sabotage GGG. He wanted him to win, as his trainer. He was trying to lead GGG to a win. GGG didn’t fight like they trained in the gym. Abel, whether he resigned or not, couldn’t take back his instructions in the corner. His displeasure can be heard clearly in between rounds.

Abel doesn't know any other way. When Golovkin was young he needed no other way. People talk about basic, limited fighters, Sanchez is a basic very limited trainer.

When it watched it back, I gave it Canelo. To me, he looked to have landed more, full stop. But Golovkin still landed plenty.

But of course, it’s as you say: whenever a highly dominant boxer backpedals, and it’s not what the commentariat are accustomed to, I find objectivity goes with it.

Yeah, judges look for certain things in a fight. This is usually who is landing more power punches in more rounds. This is why Canelo wins. You won’t lose if you outland your opponent in power punches in more rounds.

It has been shown by judges, time and time again, that they don’t want to see a jabbing contest. If you are going to throw jabs, make sure you are also outlanding your opponent with power punches. That’s what judges want to see.

GGG, for whatever reason, decided it’s okay to just throw jabs with the occasional power punch landed. He has never fought anyone else like that before. He decided to do that in his biggest fight. If it ain’t broke, don’t try to fix it. Why not just go all out and throw power punches like you do in pretty much every single fight? He lost that fight all on his own.

The last fight that Canelo was outlanded in the power punch category, in more rounds, it was vs Mayweather Jr in 8 out of 12 rounds and Mayweather got the win. Coincidentally, aside from the 114-114 score, the two other judges had Mayweather winning approximately 8 rounds.

This is how judges usually score. There was nothing different from Canelo vs GGG. They looked for who was landing the more telling blows, more power punches in more rounds. It’s very simple. If a fan disagrees with this, too bad. That’s what they look for. They do not care if all you are landing is jabs and backpedaling. GGG should have known better. He is experienced enough to know what lost him that fight. He is not ****** and he should stop pretending to be ****** and clueless as to why he didn’t get the decision.

GGG is a piece of sh it for what did to Abel Sanchez. Abel Sanchez turned that eastern euro that nobody knew or cared about and turned him into someone profitable....only to turn his back on Abel the second some money landed on his lap. Fu ck that scumbag GGG.
