he's not the modern day Hagler. Hagler took lots of dangerous fights against people with low name recognition. GGG did not.

I think GGG is too old to reclaim the top spot. He's going to feel the punches more now and his stamina may be effected. We'll see. Though he's a far cry from his early 30s and like everyone said, it took him too long to get the big fights.

As a pro, Golovkin has fought and won in Germany, Denmark, Panama, Ukraine, Monte Carlo, UK, and the US. That's a road warrior personified.

Gggs career will always have a lot of “what ifs”. What if he wasn’t ducked by sturm and froch? What if he didn’t duck Ward? What if canelo didn’t avoid him for 2 yrs and what if the judges got it right when they finally fought? What if he got to fight a prime Sergio Martinez or was able to fight charlo and Andrade at any point? There’s no way to go back but if he unified at mw in this next fight and somehow pulls off the upset in sept, that will go a long way towards cementing a better legacy for himself and will alter the perception of his biggest rival. Not a bad consolation prize if it happens.

So GGG's big career accomplishment is 21 title defenses, which is a fake statistic because they started counting that when he had the WBA regular and Felix Sturm had the actual WBA belt. Plus even if he had the real WBA belt, they would be comparing him having 1 of 4 belts to a championship era when there was only one belt.

If GGG retires with his best accomplishment being a fake WBA statistic, and draw vs Canelo, in a fight he performed very poorly and barely seemed to land a hard clean punch all fight, then his career was a big disappointment, and as a boxer he risks being remembered as one of the biggest underachievers to ever lace them up.

From beating up grown men as a 9 year old kid in Karaganda, he has gone on to reach the absolute pinnacles in both the amateur and professional worlds. He can have no regrets - he is a living legend!

Says Boxing Logic - a hater who's opinion literally amounts to nothing. Golovkin got paid good sums of money making defences of said title... Your opinion has never/will never amount to anything!

Also the world saw Golovkin DEFEAT Canelo, there is no way in hell he drew with him lool. The common consensus was a 116-112, 115-113 GGG win. Furthermore how can you be "one of the biggest underachievers to ever lace them up" if you held three of the four sanctioning body titles at your weight??

No shame in your career GGG. You beat some guys boxing fans had heard of. You also beat some guys nobody has heard of including guy on house arrest.
Did you come up short in your biggest fight? Yes. Did you let down your groupies who had been predicting an early KO win against Canelo? Yes. Is your next fight on at 6am EST in the US so if you look like **** no one will really see it? Yes.
But you have enough money to live out your days in peace and that’s a blessing. Cong**** GGG.
