to be fair, i think with all things considered : skill, style, weight class, i would rank canelo's toughest opponents as the following:
1: beterbiev - an absolute animal, who has no doubt slowed down, but ridiculous strength including on the inside, and given canelo's style as of late in getting to inside and catch and countering , it would obviously be dangerous to be on the inside against beterbiev. thats a tough fight where you are gonna wake up feeling sore the next morning and thats why theyve avoided that fight imo, is a chance it has something to do with beterbiev being on espn
2: benavidez - high output, iron chinned, improving , hungry, young fighter who got the better of bivol in recent sparring
3: andrade: highly skilled, awkward , southpaw
4: yarde : not the fashionable name to say but styles makes fights and the 2 people who beat him , beat him with their reach and jab, him vs canelo would be a in-pocket battle , and yarde is bigger
5: bivol: good 1-2, ever since he got buzzed by smith left hook, has been defensive imo, and not sure if he has the grit to win a clear decision vs canelo,
so according to my list, and i kno its not a fact, but canelo is fighting the 5th toughest opponent, and obviously yarde has no title so thats excusable but i dont see bivol as being tougher to beat than beterbiev, benavidez and andrade

I mean, to say the likes of Benivdez and Andrade, two fighters who have fought no one of any note, are tougher opponents than Bivol is one thing.to be fair, i think with all things considered : skill, style, weight class, i would rank canelo's toughest opponents as the following:

But to say Anthony Yarde is a tougher fight than Bivol is just totally outrageous.
We are talking about the same Anthony Yarde who is 1-1 with Lydon Arthur and was stopped with a jab by a past it Kovalev?Comment

I really hope Canelo fights Beterbiev next so he can Mayweather-Gatti him. Beterbiev is an animal because he's been allowed to. An elite counter puncher, with power at that, will show you the difference in levels.to be fair, i think with all things considered : skill, style, weight class, i would rank canelo's toughest opponents as the following:

Benavidez- Benavidez was knocked down by a jab. Everbody talks about his offense but why are you all not understanding that a masterful defense supresses all of that. Add that with the fact that Canelo is a powerful counter puncher AND Benavidez marks up easily. Canelo batters him in a very tough fight.
Nobody wants to see Andrade except for a few weirdos on here who are on a "Canelo's ducking" hate agenda
Yarde- With the right trainer, Yarde could be so much more. He is actually a good boxer but you can tell its things he's lacking in being trained on. Specifically defense. He could be very slick but he chooses to be too flat footed. Canelo probably stops him.
Bivol- With everything considered, Bivol is the toughest fight.Comment

Watch the last 2 rounds again as a refresher, he may have stopped Smith if the fight had gone on 10 seconds longer. He's defensive but he answers the call all the time, it's really hard to take the play from him. If Canelo is tired late in the fight he will be in trouble, imo. Bivol finished very strong against Smith, Barerra (KO12), and Pascalto be fair, i think with all things considered : skill, style, weight class, i would rank canelo's toughest opponents as the following:
