Comments Thread For: Hearn: We Wouldn't Have Agreed To Kambosos Rematch In Australia On Devin's Behalf

Eddie Hearn still considers Devin Haney loyal. Haney's former promoter understands that the unbeaten WBC world lightweight champion had little choice but to take the opportunities presented to him by Hearn's promotional competitors, Lou DiBella and Bob Arum. Hearn promoted Haney's past six fights, but Haney agreed to a multi-fight deal that'll tie him to DiBella Entertainment and Arum's Top Rank Inc. for the near future.

The rematch clause means nothing since it is contingent on Haney staying at 135, something he has said he won’t do.

I’m glad Devin has taken the gamble, I’m sure we all want to see the best fighting the best and to be a great you’ve got to do that.

The best news is he's away from those sleaze bags at Matchroom, great move Devin and don't go back!

Dont make sense to move up immediately should he beat kombosos. Its one more fight with Kombosos and then a mega bragging rights fight with loma. Could even end with a loma rematch if 1st fight is entertaining enough. Tanks coming out from Floyds claws it seems, ryan seems to be getting back on track... maybe over the next 12-24 months we get all the fights we want to see between the top 135 pounders.

And yet by going on a deal by deal basis Matchroom allowed the door to remain open and be able to chase the undisputed on other platforms if necessary. Hardly sleazebags. As opposed to PBC, who would have wanted a long term deal, and not allowed cross promotion, in order to keep his title hostage. How's it working out for Davis? As opposed to top rank, who's **** move of bringing the franchise title into the scenario, resulted in Haney not getting the Loma fight he desired, and getting his title by e-mail, thus being ridiculed by every who is a hater of the guy, and wants to disrespect him. Sorry, but who's the sleazebags?

Sounds like a good plan. I don't much care who promotes him, I just wanna see the fights. But it's getting really tight for him at the weight they say, so maybe moving up will be necessity.

Yes true, a rematch in Australia doesn't seem fair.

Haney better stop kambozo or he's getting robbed. Go ask Pacquiao

I couldn’t label myself a Haney fan, but he should be commended for keeping himself away from golden handcuff deals with networks.
Regardless of who he was working with for his last few fights.

He’s ensured Networks cannot be the reason for a fight not happening. I can only admire and respect that.
