He did drop the belt. There is no dis*****g that.

Now if you justify it because he then fought Teo later, ok. You can do that. I will not, especially when Loma was on record as stating he wanted all the belts.

When the Mando was Crolla, a scrub, he made a good payday for an easy defense. When it was haney, he dropped the belt.

My narrative is Haney has the attributes that he very well could’ve upset Loma, won the belt, and then the Teo payday wouldn’t have happened for Loma.

Didn't Loma take a paycut just for Teofimo fight to happen? So about what payday are you talking to?

The Teo fight was his biggest payday. If he got upset by Haney, the payday would be gone.

As for the pay cut- Teo wanted more so Arum gave him some of Loma’s take. Loma at first refused but Espn told him and arum if it wasn’t Teo you weren’t getting the same money. I believe this site and espn had stories about it.

Is Davis the only star TMT got? So if Tank splits up with Ellerbe/Floyd, who else is there for TMT for big fights?

Haney doesn’t have the power to bother Loma…He took the tougher fight in Lopez and has called out Davis several times. Davis with his power would also be a tougher fight than Haney for Loma. Loma has taken on all comers, his record and opponents speak for themselves. Dont see these great “attributes” of Haney(other than running well and diving face first into the crotch of his opponent when he is hurt) that would worry Loma.

You’re a smart fan, you know you can win a fight without power.

He didn’t “ take the tougher fight”. His promoter had him primarily fighting in house guys, same as he did with all his LW’s, unless it was an easy mark like Crolla.

              All comers, except for Haney.

Yes he’s called out Tank many times. Tank hasn’t responded because Floyd knows tank is the bigger draw and he’s going to delay until it’s best for Tank. That doesn’t justify dropping the belt.

Now you’re either playing dumb or not paying attention. Loma got upset by Teo and had a tough one against Linares- opponents with longer reach who he took a while to get inside where he could dominate.

Haney can box off the back foot, move laterally, thus being able to keep Loma off him. He’s also much bigger at 135 than Loma is since he is a true LW.

You can think what you wish but you are also a longtime knowledgeable fan- if AruM and his matchmakers didn’t have him make the defense when he could ( this an easy payday) that signals they know the attributes could cause problems.

But he's an excellent fighter. Does this mean he's leaving Mayweather promotions and becoming a free agent? It would be less difficult for him I think, with the weight divisions he fights in, compared to Crawford.

PBC has a number of big name welterweights and the Charlo brothers, so Bud ain't getting them, unless he accepts a low offer and perhaps a multi-fight contract with them.
Not overrated power. Issac’s defense in that fight was amazing. He had an extremely tight guard that was catching all of Davis’s notorious uppercuts. Davis hurt him a couple of times to the body though. But that’s about it. He couldn’t land any clean headshots.

Davis told The Last Stand Podcast with Brian Custer. “Whoever is in the top four, I don’t know who they’re talking about. Name somebody that is fighting the top whoever. You don’t see any other top fighters fighting top guys. I don’t know when it’s going to happen. It’ll probably happen next year or the year after that. I don’t know but don’t just put everything on me and say I’m not fighting top guys.”

Really, because Loma fought Teo, and Kambosos fought Teo and is getting lined up to fight Haney. How are the top guys not fighting one another at 135 or 140?

He should definitely become a free agent.

135 is pretty spread out in terms of fighters and promoters. Garcia with Golden Boy, Haney PBC, Loma with Top Rank. Kambosos is represented by DiBella but seems to be free to work with any promoter.

If Tank really wants big fights, he could stay a free agent and do fight by fight deals. Still, Leaving Mayweather promotions is different to leaving Haymon and PBC though, so if tank doesn’t leave PBC too, then he’s going to be limited to networks and fighters he can face anyway.
