Floyd went after Shane and Oscar years before they fought. Arum wouldn't make the Oscar fight, said it wouldn't make money. Not Floyds fault. Nobody was saying Shane was old when he knocked Marge out the fight before Floyd did they? Before Marge he starched Mayorga, Shane getting stoppages at the highest level against top guys is unprecedented at those levels so lets keep it real.

No... not Floyd's fault, of course not. If Floyd was interested in legacy he would have found a way to fight opponents in his weight class, and would have made the Pac fight earlier... But even if its not his fault, the facts are the facts. Floyd never touched the greatness in the ring that Ali did... Ali took legit risks every step of the way, Floyd was risk averse.
I will give Floyd credit for leaving Arum. That was smart and perhaps took some guts. But your comparing a very talented ATG fighter, at 130, who managed his career carefully and was motivated by financial gain exclusively with an icon... a man who fought the best, put his talents on the line for what he believed in. YES Ali said and did some dreadful things... But your missing the point: His actions spoke louder than his words... Notice in the second clip that Louis disagrees with Ali but somehow that does not mean that much. Remember also that Louis was great and competative himself and its natural to retain some of that competative spirit regarding Ali. point being there was respect and affection between the two. Floyd has none of that dynamic with his peers.
One way to judge a person is by his peers and how he is thought of.... Even those who thought Ali was an upity N____ (using the term to show how people thought) when they met him, and worked with him wound up his friends... Marciano for example. Ali was special. Ali was a once in seven generations saint as far as I am concerned... No, he was not perfect, but his actions made Black America better and ultimately the whole world better. You can't compare a woman beating thug, who walks around and threatens people with Ali!! good googly moogly!!!!sheesh.

To answer your thread title, why Yes. He is a scammer. He's scammed millions of people of their hard earned money for dog**** fights.
Now, had he advertised his fights perhaps as a perfect sleepy remedy, I wouldn't have had a problem. That's on you then to pay $75 for his farces to fall asleep instead of going to your local pharmacy and picking up a 60 count Melatonin for about 5 bucks.Comment

Its a fair question isn't it? But you cannot fault Floyd for that... If he didn't deliberately mislead people, which makes him a reprobate, the fact that he does not invest in what he advocates would not make him so bad.
Rich people in general do the opposite of what you and I are told... They never save money which is a fancy way of saying "Here mr Banker, you take my money and lend it out to others and make a killing!" They own nothing, and dress down, not up... Rich people use money to generate more money and to buy valuable asssets that will appreciate, like Real Estate. They put everything in trusts... so there is no ownership under their name. They strive to look less, not more wealthy, as they do not need or value the attention that comes with being well to do.
What Floyd did is different. He misled guilable individuals. He set out to find marks.Comment

Ray Robinson had lots of businesses... Lots and lots of em... And on a foggy brain day? when one inquired about one of those stray businesses? Robinson might have looked at them funny and asked "thats mine?" Problem is, its not enough to "have businesses" and anyone who has ever had a business will tell you that you have to be involved with your business. Otherwise people steal, and nobody cares when things are wrong... In Rays case? by the time he was in his twilight years his businesses had all dried up and he was basically broke.
This world is such that its virtually impossible to just lay back and let your money grow. Unless you curb your lifestyle. The government and other banking systems are designed to take your money eventually.
