Lennox Lewis has to be the worst commentator

When he called the Kownacki Helenius II fight with the Showtime crew he was good. It matters who you’re paired with. I wish they would replace Mares with him.Originally posted by Floyd SinclairI was never really a fan of his commentating. Same goes for Andre Ward but nothing personal against either of themComment

Yeah Lewis is terrible.
Honestly I miss the HBO team and the old Sky Sports team in the UK, I know those guys were a bit of a meme but they were entertaining teams and I never had any issues with them.
These days on DAZN you'll often tune in for a big fight and have some guy you've never heard of doing solo commentary like wtf.Comment

RJJ had a great voice on the mic. He didn't interject too much. Usually recognized valid work from each fighter too.
Foreman, to me wasn't quite on par but wasn't a shill either. It almost seems like the HW's are a little less aware of certain nuances that might not apply in the full grown man division.
Emmanuel Steward was goat and is missed by all. No argument. Sometimes I tear up a little just listening to his voice. I miss him and the whole HBO team.Comment

I can't recall which fight it was (maybe Morell/Allen?) But he informed Kenny that the correct pronunciation of his name was "len-ox" and not ""len-nix". Ever since then, No pronounces it the former and not the latter.Comment

Can't agree with this more. Steward was my favorite, I love RJJ calling fights and Foreman was good but not great.

Lennox is pretty bad. I'm not a fan of his commentary, I've said this many times but some of the people that are on broadcasts that you'd expect to provide insight are the worst. Lewis is guilty of that, Sugar Ray Leonard is terrible, Goossen is absolutely mediocre. It's always such a letdown.
As for Ward, he's biased and he comes off as a narcissist but at least he offers some good analysis (if biased). He can see things happening in the ring and can articulate it well, but when a fighter reminds him of himself or the antithesis of his values, watch out for the bias.Comment
