I wonder if they even tried for something like a unification with Andrade. For that matter, if they want Canelo, they could at least take on some of the "soft touch" former world champions like Smith or Plant. But I guess those fights were too dangerous for Charlo. I don't understand why people think Canelo is ducking anyone. What does he have to gain from fighting Charlo or Benavidez? If he takes out Bivol, he can then close the door on GGG and make a ton of money, and then fight the winner of Beterbiev v Smith Jr, and try for double undisputed for the first time in the 4 belt era. And with Usyk out fighting for his country, and the Spence/Crawford fight a fantasy, he's really likely to make it before anyone else. That's a heck of a better legacy fight than Charlo. If Charlo wanted to be a good option, he could have fought Andrade, then unified with the winner of GGG/Murata, and then you have an undisputed v undisputed billing.

Showtime need to fire this guy, he does a terrible job.
When their biggest competition HBO left boxing you'd have thought it'd have been fish in a barrel for showtime to take over as the number 1 boxing broadcaster in the US.
But espinoza sucks.GSimons@83 likes this.
