Rhabdo is kidney damage from overtraining. Muscle breakdown damages the kidneys. It’s a big deal. He might be damaged goods like Spence.

2 things can cause this, intense exercise or training where you don't allow your muscles to rest, causing muscles to break down, which for Ortiz sake would be the one that caused it, because the other is dehydration, and if that's what it was, it's not a good sign, let's hope it's the latter.

Sounds like he was overtraining to make weight.

This. Very, very bad. A friend of mine spent a week in the hospital with it.

I'm going to need Bernard Hopkins to ask for his medical records to be posted publicly.

Damn! Get Well Soon Vergil Ortiz! Just Move Up Kid Please! I think he would be a beast at 154 as well but I notice all these Texas Guys are HUGE for their Weight Classes they all seems to be sucking 2 Division down to have some sort of advantage. I don't believe in the "Weight Bully" stuff as long as you don't miss weight or struggle to make weight but clearly he is struggling to make 147 so that is a form of weight Bullying when you struggle that bad to make weight

Munguia passing out Weeks ago was concerning as well...

This right here. Rhabdo occurred with some of the gents back in my youth that I trained with. Saw it mostly with physical stress and dehydration (either not properly hydrating or drinking too much alcohol when away from training). Hope Vergil recovers quickly.
