Tell me who else would dare fight Bivol and only focus 1 percent? This man has surpassed ATG status, this man is a legit living legend! Viva Mexico cabrones!!!

Lol GLOVEkin is 8 years older than Canelo and already beat him twice according to most fight observers so has nothing left to prove. Canelo just wants a clear, decisive victory over him now that he's almost 40, split with his head coach and hasn't looked great in his last couple of fights which shouldn't be difficult to achieve for the cherry picking, cheating, juicehead Mexican. However, a victory at this point is meaningless and if they were the same age I've no doubt that GLOVEkin would knock him out given that he schooled him twice despite being almost a decade older.

Have to respect Canelo for sticking at it with trying to beat the Great Golovkin. He's 2-0 down, but came closer at the second attempt. Whether people love or hate Pacquiao, you have to respect that even after 3 beatings from Marquez, he went back in there to taste a fourth, and even wanted a fifth! But Marquez refused, saying that he respects Pacquiao too much to hurt him anymore. Nash out.

Canelo has always been a huge diva. Learned it from Oscar and his nemesis Money. Canelo got thrashed in the first fight and a draw in the second. He clearly didn't wait out GGG long enough. He is in there with a SOLID badass in Bivol. If you don't think that you don't get boxing. If Canelo gets past Bivol he will beat GGG. He has finally pushed him out there long enough. Canelo is great for this season. He would only make top ten in the era of greatness going back to the 80's and 90's.

But now Canelo’s response is suddenly “they wanted a fight with Golovkin. So I said, ‘Why not? Everyone wants (me to) fight Golovkin, right?’”

I’m sure the change of heart 4 years later has nothing to do with Ggg being 40 now and barely having fought over the past few years. As usual, Canelo has chosen to not take a fight when it matters most or is at the peak interest of the fans, it’s when he feels there is the least risk associated with the opponent.
Nonsense. What fighter in the entire sport has a more impressive resume than Canelo? That's rhetorical, of course. GGG is great, one of my faves to watch, but Canelo handled business in the rematch.

This should be a good build up.

Did JMM really say that about Pac? Dude is a savage counter-puncher in and out of the ring.

Probably not, but in my mind I like to think that he did. I did love the way he flat out refused the 5th fight Pac was desperate for though. It was great to see him end the series there, as the definitive victor, after being blatantly robbed in the 3rd fight, and also having a strong case for 1 and 2. Nash out.

You have been banned for insolence. You may browse and post freely on this site; however, your messages will pass into the aether completely disregarded by knowledgeable fight fans. You have been cast out to the land of Nod to live out your remaining days in forlorn anonymity. This is the price paid for flippant, puerile disrespect of GGG.

First off, is the writer of this article rounding up? Because last time I checked Golovkin is still 39.

Secondly, I'm excited about the trilogy. I feel like Canelo has a tougher task than G in his upcoming bout. Canelo can win on points and it wouldn't degrade his star power. On the contrary, it'll increase it since he moved up in weight to challenge a legitimate world champion who is arguably in his prime. But if he conquers Bivol with an emphatic stoppage, that'll definitely boost him up even more.

Golovkin's back is against the wall in his match up with Murata. Anything short of a stoppage or a dominant performance would do nothing to boost his star power. Golovkin needs to look impressive. He can do this by dominating Murata through 12 rounds, but a stoppage would be so much more impressive. If Golovkin looks impressive against Murata than the hype for the trilogy would finally get the spark it has lost over the past 3 and half years.
