          I would not claim fighters like Tyson Fury or Mathew Macklin as Irish.

          Where did Fury grow up? Tyson Fury is English of Irish decent 'He has some Irish in him'.

          From interviews I have seen with Fury, he speaks with a more British attitude. He has lately compared himself to a B2 Lancaster Bomber.

          I think Fury winning the Irish Heavyweight title was a tactical move. A bit like the way it was for Lennox Lewis coming back to England, and ****ing on about supporting West Ham.

          Tyson Fury is English of Irish decent.

              Strange how many idiots can't get their heads around ancestry, heritage and lineage. Tyson Fury is of Irish descent, and Canelo's mother likely had an affair with an Irishman. If a bloodline can be traced back to Ireland, then that makes a person Irish, phaggots.

                Eligibility to fight for an Irish title

                Contestants for an Irish professional boxing championship must:-

                (1) (i) be the holder of a current Boxing Union of Ireland licence for a minimum term of six consecutive months prior to a proposed Irish title bout;

                (1) (ii) The board of the Boxing Union of Ireland may exercise its discretion where a contestant previously held a Boxing Union of Ireland licence for a minimum period of six consecutive months.

                (2) (i) be an Irish citizen by birth; or

                (ii) a person born abroad who has since become an Irish citizen and has been permanently resident and domiciled on the island of Ireland for a continuous period of not less than five years immediately preceding the championship contest. Birth certificate and/or passport must be produced to the Board a minimum of two months prior to the championship fight; or

                (iii) have at least one parent or grandparent born on the island of Ireland.
                To avail of the parent or grandparent qualification, relevant birth certificates proving the Irish connection shall be sent to the offices of the Boxing Union of Ireland a minimum of two months preceding the proposed Irish title fight.

                (3) Both fighters shall have fought a minimum of one scheduled 8 x 3 minute rounds bout prior to an Irish title fight

                (4) Proposed Irish title fights shall be sent via email to the Boxing Union of Ireland a minimum of one month prior to the proposed bout.

                Forfeiture of Title

                A Champion shall forfeit his title in the following circumstances:-

                (1) if defeated in a championship contest sanctioned and controlled by the Boxing Union of Ireland and at the same weight at which he won his title.

                (2) if proven guilty to the satisfaction of the Board of the BUI of gross misconduct as a boxer;

                (3) if he refuses to defend his title after the receipt of a challenge approved, and a date limit given for such a title match, by the Boxing Union of Ireland;

                (4) if a champion is for any reason unable or unwilling to defend his title when required by the Boxing Union of Ireland to do so;

                (5) if he ceases to be a licensee of the Boxing Union of Ireland;

                (6) if the title has not been defended within twelve months of the date of winning or successfully defending his title.

                  Does Tyson Fury have a Irish Accent?

                  Tyson Fury is english of Irish decent 'He has some Irish in him'.

                  Where did Tyson Fury grow up?

                  I doubt people in Ireland support him, the same way they used to support Steve Collins or Barry Mcguigan.
