This. I don’t understand why they can’t just do a joint broadcast on regular showtime and regular DAZN. Both guys would benefit from the exposure. It’s a good fight but let’s not pretend this is some grand can’t miss matchup. Charlos highest purse to date is 1.5mil (guaranteed) & Munguia hasn’t even cracked 1 mil (guaranteed). How much are they planning on paying these two? I see no reason as to why this needs to be on PPV.

Ok, I'm about to write one of my long as post again to explain chit to you dumbazz mollasuckas.......
Nah, a lot of the pro mma guys don’t know who Charlo is, but they know who Munguia is.

It is funny. I feel like a lot of people forgot how much PBC was pushing that “free boxing” campaign with CBS & FOX, it was short lived. CBS dropped them less than a year in & the FOX cards slowed down big time, more so the quality of cards put together on FOX. Everyone was screaming “thank you Al Haymon” & then Bob & TR tried to piggy back by going to ESPN.

DAZN should consider themselves lucky that they were able to make it this long without PPV. The only way they could probably avoid it is to raise the monthly subscription again which would probably be suicide for them

I’m saying, why not do it? That way there’s no bvtching about what network it’s on, just show it on both. Both guys get more exposure. This isn’t the caliber of a fight that’s gonna make people who don’t already have Showtime become new subscribers & it isn’t gonna move the needle for DAZN either. So do the first fight on both networks simultaneously & then the winner gets to do it exclusively on their network.

Why would Showtime do that when they're the one footing the bill. GB isn't putting up any money yet wants it on DAZN. They tried to do the same thing with Linares/Loma , Oscar wanting it on HBO only, but Linares made Oscar make the fight and fought on ESPN

It's supposed to be on regular Showtime. Showtime putting up the money and made the offer, it's Oscar who wants it on DAZN PPV.

So the terms of the deal were first fights on Showtime and if Mungia wins the rematch is on DAZN..... but Oscar wants to switch it upside down to a joint PPV at the 11th hour? The fight isn't big enough to warrant a joint PPV.

De La Hoya continues to prove he is absolutely negligent. He was my idol as a kid, but he could fu0ck up making a grilled cheese sandwich at this point.
