Canelo really shouldn't be fighting at 175 lbs

I totally agree, he's definitely undersized at 175lbs. I'm far from a Canelo fanboy but he deserves nothing but respect for choosing this fight. It's by far his toughest challenge since Golovkin and I fully expect Bivol to win. Perhaps Canelo and his team took too much confidence from the Kovalev win.
Regardless, nobody else is taking risks like this in the sport and it's refreshing.Comment

rehydration clauses, peds, and rigged cards. let us look at this. Canelo couldn't stop Chavez jr, threw everything at him but a natural 175 Fonfora hit him so hard his legs went stiff like aboard. canelo goes up to 175 and has to put a double hydration clause on an old and faded kovalev. now, he is fighting a naturally strong 175 who dominated two strong punchers joe smith jr and Sullivan Barrera. We are supposed to believe this 5'8 flat-footed fighter, who wouldn't fight andrade for undisputed at 160 vs. sweet cheeks at 168, who couldn't outbox the likes of lara, fmw, and trout at 154. is this phenom like roy jones who can defy the weight classes in boxing, dominant and stop men bigger than him.
i mean people really need to put this in perspective.Comment

And no rehydration clause either. Also no catchweight.
What else you got?Comment

That the heavyweight division should stay the same. I just want to emphasis, that my issue is not with the Heavyweight division being open class.
The Heavyweight Division is the best division, because the competition is the purest. No fighters weight draining themselves, or restricting their lifestyles 'Anything goes'. The same day weigh in rule, would have little affect on the Heavyweight division 'But it would improve the lower weight classes in a multitude of ways'.
Of late just recently multiple fights have fell through, because fighters cannot make weights or they want catch weights.
I.E Benn vs Brook, and there is aslo difficulty surrounding Eubank Junior vs Brook.
Josh Taylor on the sly, has used the excuse of making the weight? The reason he performed not at his best vs Catteral.
All of these situations will be combated if 'The same day weigh in rule, is re-introduced'.Last edited by PRINCEKOOL; 03-05-2022, 11:25 AM.Comment

Another dumbass hater poster who thinks weight and height are the same thing. Canelo has special body type. He is naturally gifted. He is modern Sam Langford or mini Mike Tyson. He got towered almost all of his last 10 opponents and beat the crap out of them. Bivol isn't different. He is comfortable with tall guys.Comment

DCkSHCiUQAAmqqZ.jpg will be interesting to see their weights on fight night, if they are shown that is, bivol u would think would have the weight advantage but hes doesnt seem a big drainerComment

gota respect nelo moving up weight classes, not that many can do that and have success, will be an interesting fight, bivol is fighting the little monster of boxing right now, lets see if he can step up to that level, bigger as he isComment
