I thought Khan's performance, even in defeat, would have earned him the Canelo rematch. Surprised he's lowering himself to Brook again, but now that he's sorting his back out, no cupping, Special K should be easy work, and the Canelo rematch will still be there for him in 2023. Outside of lucky punches, and poor stoppages, Khan has only ever lost to a man in a hat. Nash out.
Amir khan WILL activate his rematch clause vs Kell brook!

I think people are not getting what Hearn is saying, he doesnt really think Khan wants a rematch he thinks he might activate the rematch clause and then will ask for step aside money and retire. Brook just needs to call his bluff and accept the rematch because there is absolutely no way Khan steps up for another beating like that.Comment

I made a thread right after the fight saying he would. People said it was nonsense.
Why wouldn’t he? He can receive step aside if Brook goes in another direction, which maybe is why he’s doing it. Free money and retire. Even if it’s just half a million he accepts, it’s half a million for doing nothing at all.
Or he can do another 8 week camp, get a beating again and retire and get another payday in the process. He’s rich, not wealthy. Not many would leave a few million on the table for a couple more months training. Then he can walk away.
More likely it’s the first option, a business move from someone that pretty much just retired but can do nothing and still receive an extra but of money.Last edited by deathofaclown; 03-05-2022, 06:57 AM.Comment

Maybe he can last the distance this time around, another 8 week camp may benefit him.I made a thread right after the fight saying he would. People said it was nonsense.

But overall, I don't think he will activate the rematch clause.
As somebody else has stated, this is probably a tactical ploy to get a step aside payment.

Indeed, but he has to activate it to be eligible for step aside.
I doubt he really wants the fight.
he probably had inside knowledge that Sky are probably going to pay Brook and Eubank good money to fight, so he’ll just exercise his rematch clause, get a little step aside from both sides and sail off.
Like I said, even if it’s half a mil to do absolutely nothing, because he’s basically retired anyway, why not?

I thought this was a joke, seems like he trying to get step aside money which is pathetic considering his current positionComment
