Comments Thread For: Josh Taylor: It Wasn't My Best Performance, It Was Close, I Know I Won

Oh come on, which rounds did Taylor dominate in? Please let's not confuse punches thrown with effective aggressiveness. That's a little much.
It is easy to say: 'the writing is on the wall' after the fight. We all did not know the ceiling of Taylor and he might improve along the way still, altough not as much as we've hoped. Also it isn't as bad of a robbery as people make it out to be. I saw a competitive fight where Taylor was trying to make the fight and being the aggressor and was racking up points in the process. Catterall was mostly the defensive fighter that got some shots in here and there. The knockdown made things looks worse than they actually were but I saw it also as a close but dominant performance by Taylor.Comment

The first 4 rounds, Taylor also ended the fight stronger, Catterall was still nervous and not into his game from the start and was not starting to have success up until the mid rounds FWIW.Comment

Agree to disagree. I didnt score the fight but I dont remember thinking Taylor was dominant in the first 4 rounds AT ALL, or even that he was up big halfway through. Even the last 2, he won on activity sure, but nothing impressive.Comment

Bud would **** Taylor up whether we heard of Catteral or not. We just found out that Josh can’t box. He barely beat Prograis and he isn’t a boxer. Bud is the best scientific boxer in the world. Josh has “zero” chance of beating Bud.
Why do you think Taylor doesn't match up to Crawford ? The Catterall fights meant nothing, he was glad to be in the ring with Taylor he didn't really come in there acting the title belonged to him, but was more of an awkward soutpaw that had to be dealt with. It was not as if Taylor wasn't landing any shots of his own. Taylor was the agressor and finished strong. Just the knockdown was unfortunate. Watch the fight with the sound off.
Also he beat Prograis, who I find a really good fighter and he won convincingly in his last fight against a good Mexican fighter. So what did you see beforehand on Taylor that made you convinced he wasn't elite/ or couldn't become elite ? He wipes the floor with Thurman, Taylor knows has been in deep waters and won unlike a lot of other fighters out there.Comment

Foh. Your phony ass outlook on the first 4 rounds is pure damage control and fantasy.

And not enough power to give him a punchers chance against Crawford either.Comment
