That's a lot of excuses from a guy saying he thinks he won the fight.
The fight his trainer says was a fight of two halves-. The first half he lost, the second he got dropped and landed about 8 punches in the last 3. Go figure.
Catterall outlanded Taylor by a mile, dropped Taylor, bust Taylor's eye with punches. What's a guy got to do?
I'll say it again, Taylor has a mile of excuses. It was up to him to be the P4P guy and deal with whatever he comes up against. Crawford has had his share of ropey looking fights and guess what? He turned the flat patches around, overcame and cleaned up.
Taylor didn't land more effective punches, didn't overcome the frustration Catterall brought out of him, didn't open up Catterall down the stretch. I don't see how he won. And the judges scorecards are hard to match up to the action. There's a lot for Taylor to do now.Comment

You're exactly right and I totally agree! He didn't bring his A game and he looked woefully unprepared for this fight as if he was just going through the motions of it all just to collect an easy payday.
i commented he looked really drained in the weigh in, especially gaunt in the face, not sure what the exact reason is but he looked absolutely awful though, been a big fan & knew he'd be a champ ever since he destroyed Dave Ryan, but he has never looked this bad, and its not that Catterall did anything spectacular, he looked like he didnt wanna be in there at times during the later rounds, was turning his back on several occasions when it started getting rough.
One thing i do know though is Boxercise Ben has to go ASAP, matey is a conman.

He didn't look like he had a full training camp of sparring at all. Perhaps it was due to him fighting a fellow southpaw. He looked rather amateurish if one were to ask me. While winging wild shots, missing them and being countered all night.
What separated Taylor from most fighters was his versatility; The ability to defeat his opponents on the outside as well as on the inside. We didn't witness any of that at all.
All he did was plodded forward and continue to eat clean left hands from Catterall all night long.Comment
