It's good khan delayed fight so at least he retired at decent age. If brook beat him 8 years ago that would be 27 years old.

Brook was closer to that level
He fought Crawford way past his best.
Had no business fighting GGG at 160, ****** move, sent his career into a spiral.
then dropping 2 weight divisions after that GGG fight to fight Spence in the next fight was equally as ******. Brook could’ve beaten Spence if that never happened. You can’t go from 160 to 147 in your next fight, right off eye surgery and a beating from GGG.
Brook could’ve been a p4p level talent without bad career moves. Still had a good career but never maximised his potential. Partly his own fault for not living the life, getting stabbed etc , and partly for jumping and dropping weight classes too fast in succession against fighters you need to really be ready for.
Brook is a Porter level fighter, a world class fighter who will always fall short at the final hurdle because he's not an elite talent.Comment

It did look very easy for Brook but I hope he realises that it is because Khan is as shot as shot gets and not because Brook has had a 2nd wind and is ready for all comers.Comment

Lol Khan is an IMBECILE and only has himself to blame. After losing to Lamont Peterson, he hired Virgil Hunter and had 5 impressive wins in a row of which 4 were against former world champions including Devon Alexander + Luis Collazo. He then decided to fight Canelo and get his fragile chin decimated (Virgil Hunter strongly advised him NOT to fight Canelo) when Brook was available and had just recently become the champ after beating Porter. Imagine if he’d fought Brook back then, he would’ve made loads of money and had a much better chance of winning then tonight as his speed against Alexander was blinding and his chin was still holding up (before Canelo destroyed it permanently).
Basically, he’s only got his own ****** ego to blame for choosing to fight elite fighters like Canelo + Crawford who he had zero chance of beating from the outset. Khan’s problem is that he thinks he’s a top p4p fighter hence why he decided to train with Freddie Roach who trained Pacquiao, Virgil Hunter who had Andre Ward and now Big Mac who trains Bud. However, he is anything but and unfortunately training with the best in the business doesn’t automatically rub off on you.
In summary, Khan was always a world class fighter (Olympic medalist, world champ + unified world champ) and has beaten plenty of other decent former world champs e.g. Alexander, Malignaggi, Barrera, Collazo, Judah, Maidana, Algeri etc. However, he was NEVER top 10 p4p material but unfortunately his ego couldn’t handle that which inevitably led to poor match making and left a messy end to a once promising career. The same goes for Brook who beat Porter but always fell short against the top p4p stars like Golovkin, Spence & Crawford.
After Danny Ko'd him, he clearly tried to cash out. Since Garcia (2012) he only fought Bud and Nelo for money but didn't fight anyone of note at 147. That's damn near 10 years and Crawwford is the only decent welter he got in with. Brook, Porter, Spence, Ugas, Garcia, Thurman etc would've jumped to fight him but he knew not to fight those guys and instead close LoGreco Billy Dib and Vargas. Stop peddling these lies. He's below average and has proven it for over 10 years now. Who cares about hand speed when he sneezes and gets a concussion.

You're massively overrating Brook. Whilst he's definitely a better fighter than Khan and held his own better against top fighters like Porter, Spence & Crawford, he was never top 10 p4p material regardless of his fight choices just like Khan. Golovkin smashed him from pillar to post in a one sided beatdown and Spence was a hungry killer back then so would've found a way to take him out regardless of the Golovkin fight. Also, whilst he put up a competitive performance against Crawford for the first couple of rounds, as soon as Bud adjusted and turned southpaw (something only elite fighters are capable of doing) the fight was over.
Brook is a Porter level fighter, a world class fighter who will always fall short at the final hurdle because he's not an elite talent.
Also I said in a thread yesterday that I don’t think Brook would ever have beaten Crawford, Even prime for prime, I think Crawford would’ve been a bit too clever and found a way to win.
I still think the very best version of Brook arguably could have beaten Spence, but I actually don’t rate Spence as a top pound for pound guy anyway. Crawford I do, maybe Not resume but in ability.
Spence fought an extremely depleted Brook that dropped two weight classesLast edited by deathofaclown; 02-20-2022, 12:00 PM.Comment

Khan was never a world class fighter, I'm sorry. He was a good fighter at 140 and beat Maidana. That was 2010. He hasn't had one good win since then that makes him world class.
